- Today i'll show you an easy way to make layering frames and more using Tim Holtz Paper Scraps. These work equally well made with any paper scraps you have laying around.
I made my layer frames using punches and my other bits and bobs with my Envelope Punch Board.

I don’t care what anyone says Julie you are a brilliant crafter. (Joke…you are a brilliant crafter and no one says otherwise).These arched frames are wonderful. I Love all your makes. Seeing your videos always brightens up an otherwise dull day 😂❤😊 I’m sorry to have missed the live…was 6 a.m. here. Is a bit early for me 😊 tip.. why not cut through the outside frame in one one place to cut the entire inside with scissors than glue a label over the frame cut? I hope I splained that well😊❤

Hopefully you are sleeping soundly now!! Great premiere!! After it was over, I played with a bunch of ideas ( I should have been packing but oh well…) I found the stacking dies were the most bang for the buck in terms of results…with 2 different sizes of course you cut a frame, if planned correctly the result of that is that you end up with 1. The cut out piece which is lovely if you used an interesting die shape, 2. The cut out frame is lovely too, and then the aperture that you cut out of the card piece can be trimmed so that it is the center of another lovely frame like your video shows. 4. Run them all through the machine in an embossing folder and they are amazing. 5. Gilding wax is the cherry on top! 6. Not enough work yet?…You had a video long ago showing cutting a thin frame with stacking dies and then putting it on a cut out of the same shape…stay with me here…you can do the same thing with the last frame by putting a thin frame around the opening or aperture! The variations are amazing, with glossy accents on parts or paint, or….. What great ideas you have!💕💕💕
I was sleeping soundly for a few hours after it was over Donna😅 i did get up again at 5pm and my eldest and i went for a walk to Aldi with the shopping trolley. not too far from us, just over a mile, but it's a hilly walk, so i was back in bed at 10. they say excercise gives you more energy, hopefully that will kick in soon.
Love your ideas for the dies and i totally agree Mrs. so many of my subbies don't use dies that i often avoud them in videos, but i need to do some for those of you who love to play with them.
You just reminded me that i was going to put no dies needed in the title and description😐

I won't tell you how many 12 x 12 Timmy paper pads i have stashed as i thought i would never like the new 10 x 6 ones, and now i love the new ones😐 i do the same with shoes😅 and clothes and anythink i love really. I'm not a hoarder though, just a collector of stuff😘🤗💜

Had a little laugh Playschool is an Aussie program originally but sold on just like Bluey is today but now they have to use the Aussie voices. Nice to see a little bit of our culture sneaking in after growing up with "on the buses," "some mother do have em" all those carry on movies. Wont mention the avalanche of American sit coms..

Hi Julie! I know that this is probably not the best time to send this to you because you will probably be swamped with comments from your premier (including from me😳) but I just saw a tutorial from Bohemian Crafting (she seems really nice too) that she posted today (Sunday June, 2) called Vintage style Pop-up Album/Folio. While I do like the pop-up mechanism inside, I especially like the stacked envelope topper that she used and she explains that it was inspired by a video that she did 3 years ago and received comments on. Anyway she talks all about that. My “Style” of journal making is closer to your style and I found myself wondering how you would do that project! Anyway, I hope you do your version!💕💕💕
P.S. The pop-up mechanism looks easy BUT HER’S LOOKS LIKE THE VERY TOP PIECE MIGHT BE A BIT TOO LONG. I am struggling to pack up my house but if I can, I’ll try out that mechanism and let you know if I do. 💕💕💕

FYI: I’m sure there are others (like me) who would gladly buy your scraps. Collecting all those papers can be costly & excessive. You’d have less in your craft room, a few $ in your pocket & we’d have something to work with. I’m sure you already know this. I didn't grow to appreciate Tim holtz until I had started hoarding a bunch of other stuff. Then I bought a couple of his paper pads the 12 by 12 and then I heard that they were going away so I bought several more. Still haven't used them but I've started buying the small packages, I hadn't bought but one or two 8 by 8 before they went away. It's time he brought back the 12 by 12 and then maybe I'll use the ones I've been hoarding for about 3 or 4 years.

Julie I’m so sorry I couldn’t make the premiere to join in the comments live but my sleeping body was there in spirit….🤣 …was 8 am here! You are such a bright light and bring me such joy and of course all the crafty learning is a fact too of course. Just loved your happy accident with the unique (even Timmy doesn’t have) shaped aperture. You are a clever girl even when it goes wrong…gee some have all the luck…lol! You mentioned glues to hold strong for like metal embellishments or your snaps and according to Timmy himself he says use his Distress Collage Medium. I tried it on heavy metal embellishments and it stuck super good. He mentioned something about when it dries it shrinks a bit too so it doesn’t show around the edges either. Now that’s all I’ll use for those metal or heavy embellishments. Thanks for the giggles and even the bits of crafty knowledge thrown in. Take care!
I love when you say Lordy. It sounds like my grandparents. I’ve found that the English say a lot of the same words my grandparents used. I alway wonder where ‘those words came from. Now I know, after listening to you fine ladies. Words their parents used, since they were from England. Love to listen to you all.

I’m definitely going to try… go for it friend! Then after you cut it out or before, run it through an embossing folder and rub a bit of gold wax on the raised areas and voila you have something better than you can buy!! From a Colorado friend!!😊

How do you decide what to do.there is so much out there.
I just do what i fancy Kathy, which is a good and a bad thing as i often don't fancy finishing what i start, hence it takes me a while to finish a journal.
I may see something someone else does or like today i was looking at a cardmaking magazine and i really wanted it for the 'free' embossing folder, but couldn't justify the cost. so now i'm playing with what i have to come up with something similar and along the way i may come up with something totally different.
Often i just mess around folding paper to see what happens.
Sometimes i have a space in a journal and try to come with something that fits.
A couple months back i came up with a video title and was determined to come up with something. Ten Terricic Tuck spots on one page it was. I was giddy when i managed it, then utterly gobsmacked when Jessica over at PAper terrace did her own version and mentioned me. She was one of the first junk journallers i watched and responsible for my addiction.

I am currently making a journal using dried flowers. These windows definitely come in handy. Thanks for the tutorial. The punch for the file folder would be nice. Like you said though, we can’t have it all can we? Improvising is the name of the game. 😊Have a lovely day dear.
That sounds lovely Heather🤗yes you hit the nail on the head. I have tons of stuff, but it's taken thirty odd years to accumulate. A lot of it I wouldn't buy for junk journaling, but I bought them for past crafts. I will use them for junk journals though, as that is the beauty of them. Like you say, use what you have and improvise, it's so much fun😁🤗💜

Julie, even though I woke up late, from what I saw, you were amazing… as always!!! Cfarting! What a fun saying! Lunched with my son yesterday and told him about giving my phone number to a real estate online company and as a result my butt was blowing up the entire time we were eating. Woke up this morning wondering if he realized that my phone was in my back pocket and was silently ringing or what did he think I was saying? 😂😂🥰

I love these frames, and the ones with the different apertures are really fun. I also appreciate the clever ways to use punches. I don’t think I’m alone in having loads of punches that never get used. Goodnight Elizabeth.
