- Big waves - REALLY BIG WAVES - for Noosa Heads.
Featuring 'The Pot', and glimps of 'Teatree' surf.
Notice the lack of crowds. (This comment added 2022)
Now if there is a hint of waves.......it's crowded!
Between the hours of 6 - 8 am, clean up sets exceeded 15 Foot. One of those special days!
I have seen it double this size if not triple and still tons of surfers in the water. I love the place but its such a zoo. Australia has loads of really good surfers so size doesn't tend to thin the crowds. But Go to Raglan NZ and when it gets big and perfect you only get a handful of guys out and long perfect lefts.
NZ Rota that's enough of that carry on mate, keep the crowds in auz hahaha!
This is a very late reply, sorry.
You should see Noosa now!
Just a hint of a wave and the place is crowded!!
And if you can ...eventually ...catch a wave, its dodgems
I reckon Down at double island point would be pumping then
without a doubt. I wonder what the crowds were like?
Looks funn
So many runaways.
bro i surfed granite ba yesterday it was pumping im only 11 and pepole were saing i was a ledgend and if u have surfed nosa u will kw how good some pepole are there
there are some great young surfers in Noosa
I've been to Hawaii surfing and its funny how they call it half the size until it is big then they call it 20 foot instead of 10.😊
I think the same, but then I am only an average surfer. I have to look at the face of the wave first to call it for half. Found an interesting site that gives an explanation on the thinking behind this subject.

Yeah'p it looks like 6'ft - 7'ft hawaiian scale swell....not so big but fricking fun surf......
in Ireland, we call that 4ft
Q. What do you call a 4ft Irishman?
A. Anaemic.
Tune please
that's what we call solid four foot - eight foot my arse
...and still crowded as shit...
not even big
