  • Big waves - REALLY BIG WAVES - for Noosa Heads.
Featuring 'The Pot', and glimps of 'Teatree' surf.
Notice the lack of crowds. (This comment added 2022)
Now if there is a hint of waves.......it's crowded!
Between the hours of 6 - 8 am, clean up sets exceeded 15 Foot. One of those special days!

I have seen it double this size if not triple and still tons of surfers in the water. I love the place but its such a zoo. Australia has loads of really good surfers so size doesn't tend to thin the crowds. But Go to Raglan NZ and when it gets big and perfect you only get a handful of guys out and long perfect lefts.

      You should see Noosa now!
Just a hint of a wave and the place is crowded!!
And if you can ...eventually ...catch a wave, its dodgems

I've been to Hawaii surfing and its funny how they call it half the size until it is big then they call it 20 foot instead of 10.😊

I think the same, but then I am only an average surfer. I have to look at the face of the wave first to call it for half. Found an interesting site that gives an explanation on the thinking behind this subject.
