You are right Ted. There is NOTHING like seeing real prints on display. As an experience it can't be beat.

Had the pleasure of seeing an Irving Penn exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in Malmö, Sweden a few years ago. Definitely a photographer I was impressed by! :-)

Always a great presentation. Thank you. I have learned so much from you over the years. You have such a exceptionally broad knowledge of your subject. RS. Canada.

Thank you Ted for taken my suggestion and making it a reality. Through your camera, as viewers, we see part of this exhibition which looks amazing.
Irving Penn is one of my favorite and I loved the fact that you chose to stay behind to let the curator, Merry Foresta, reveal some notions behind the photographer and some of his works. This was a great call.
We caught a glimpse of the print quality from some exhibited works, which makes me feel sorry that this exhibit will not travel where I Live, in Canada.
Thanks Ted for the extra miles you take to sustain your channel’s audience, for us to appreciate.

+Rejean Nantel Thanks Rejean. Merry is pretty brilliant. I've talked enough about Penn. She knew him so it was better to let her talk.
We talked about the combination images of still life and portraits - she asked if she could talk about that one being her favorite. She's an incredible speaker as well. The acoustics are terrible in the museum so I didn't use much of the public talk. Next time.

+The Art of Photography And to be honest, it was the first time I saw this photo of Irving Penn although I know most of his work. So it was again a discovery for me.
I know that you've had episodes where you talked with some curators, like the Vivian Maier episode if I remember correctly. It might be interesting to do some episodes with some of them who are involved in photography so as to expose how they work, how they go around selecting (with the photographers) the portfolios they wish to display.
BTW, I didn't even notice the bad acoustics because I had to much to enjoy.
      Take care Ted!

This is what I dislike about art - the over explanation of things.

Ted, I don't get to attend galleries and museums the way I would like, so this is really a nice way to "visit" an exhibit, thank you.

id be VERY interested to see a video on Jerry Uelsmann, not sure if you've covered his work yet but I think his use of multiple exposures was incredible and so surreal.
    love the show Ted.

The Margaret Sullivan portrait that Penn deconstructs, is that not the European surrealism that Cohun worked on in Europe, that is Topologies? Thanks for posting this! Really great. Stimulating.
