Do you think the "Franken-bird" approach could become a viable long-term solution for maintaining F-35 fleets, or is it just a temporary fix for specific cases? 🤔✈ Let me know your thoughts in the comments! ~Mike 👍 You can access my other videos on the F-35 and A-10 via the links below: F-35: th-cam.com/video/DaaPZVT4_t8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ogb7s8k0gj3tdyrg A-10: th-cam.com/video/BoFBSGV9EvQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=lm33kQ56geA8lqAN
@Hoff191 Thanks for your comment. It's an interesting project for the F-35 and not something that you see every day, and so I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the video. Cheers ~Mike
I didn't realise how long it can take to repair a crash damaged jet. Finding much quicker ways to fix damaged aircraft is vital, especially if a war breaks out. Easier said than done though on Fifth Gen fighters.
@ronile81 Yes, a surprisingly long time, although I suspect there has been a great deal of red tape involved (not on the aircraft itself! 😆). This project is essentially a proof of concept that will serve as a base-line for future work of this nature. The more aircraft they repair the more efficient they will become. In a future conflict situation this work could make a positive difference in terms of the number of F-35's that the U.S. Airforce can field on the front lines. There certainly seems to be a bigger picture here beyond getting a single aircraft back in to service. Thanks for your comment, I hope you enjoyed the video. ~Mike
