    Hi EmRatThich. I'm from Colombia, but I´m living in Spain at the moment. Firstly I want to say thank you for the videos, all of them are very usefull for table tennis amateur players who wants to improve their techniques and eventually their performance in competition. The video when you are talking about the five principles of chinese table tennis philosophy came to me in a very special moment: my right arm was hurting during the forehand stroke... and I didn't wanted stop training, but the pain mades me lose confidence. I needed a change in my playing style and found it in the video. After I saw the video, all my table tennis have changed. Focus on the feeling is the main task during my training sessions. The other day I watched the video related with the grip and tried to grip my blade based on it and... It was amazing... I can't explained, but the feeling from the first ball was completly different, I've never felt the ball like this before... even my blade seems another blade, not my usual blade (Butterfly Innerforce Tamca ULC). From now, I will try to press my fingers during the stroke, just to see what happens hahahaha.
    Finally, I would like to say that I saw many videos on internet but only your videos really helped me to change my playing style and to improve.
    Looking forward for your next video... Bye

    Really good tips and particularly exceptional as NONE of my coaches know or accept to reveal your tips ,
    I had about 5 or 6 coaches after 25 years of tennis table and with age my level is slowly going down, i'm 48 .
    Thanks to your tips i really feel that i should improve my level and i'm very enthousiastic about it as i'm really passionate about tennis table .
    THANKS YOU !!!

    I actually found this to be true when serving as well, to pinch the racket at the contact with the wrist movement.
    After trying it out today I found two things happened.
    1. The vibration of the blade was sharp and I could feel the contact a lot better.
    2. The quality of the ball increased DRAMATICALLY! Now I will try to use the grip with the thumb at the edge, as your tips clearly are correct.
    I will also upgrade to harder rubbers on fh as my forehand loop is starting to develop at a lightning speed right now.
    I will focus on the finger pressure and feeling of the ball from now on

    Hello EmRatThich! I just want to say thank you for your tutorials! I haven't been able to improve so much in my table tennis since i played almost 10 years ago. Your tutorial about the grip really made a difference on how I played table tennis. A lot of coaches and also in the tutorials always emphasize about the feel of the ball, but I must say I didnt't get it (or feel it even) until I saw your video on how to correctly grip the racket. So I must say thank you so much on your videos and hope you will always help aspiring table tennis players such as I to improve their game and making it more fun for them to play.
    I also want to ask, what are some of the best training programs for practicing footwork? thanks

    Hi EmRatThich, thanks a lot for your useful videos! I don't know why my comment here is disappeared but I'd like to write again.
    First of all another greetings from Bulgaria!. We're few advanced players who are fans of you channel and off course already subscribed.
    I was completely satisfied after watching your tips in the last 3 videos - How hold the bat 1,2 and most important tips.
    In fact nobody has explained me these secrets. Оn the contrary I've set them by myself only using my feeling. Almost everything is in the same way which I found in your last 3 videos but as I mentioned I've done it completely casually.
    Now watched already your videos I know that I'm on a right way.
    I'm using bat with flared handle and off course with loosen wrist - again set casually only using my feeling and again saw the explanations in your video Best racket handle? And here too I'm on a right way. I still can't believe that no one of my Bulgarian trainers couldn't explain me these essential basic tips.
    Normally I hold the bat with backhand grip. I put the thumb on a rubber in due to a better feeling. The index finger has always the standard position.
    When I play forehand I switch the grip - put the thumb on a handle but is more relaxed. Now the main pressure is transferred to the index finger and I touch often the bat with middle finger near the index finger in due to better stability. In this way I change the angle for better forehand and feel more accuracy mainly during the forehand looping. In fact i consider this small setting as a micro adjustment. ;)
    I wanted to thank for your efforts about doing all the table tennis videos and write you here a slightly longer comment!

    • @pingsunday
      @pingsunday 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      hi Kiril. Wow, great point ! you are right that the middle finger near the index finger can provide more stability ! this point is very important when you play the FH stroke ! I really like this tips !
      may be the system put your comment in the spam or need to be reviewed. I have the same problem sometimes.
      Cheers,

    • @blueeyednick

      There aren't any good coaches in Bulgaria, just a lot of people who think they can play and make money of it. That's why you don't progress much and that's why in big european tournaments still no one's heard of Bulgaria. If you were satisfied with your coaching and you had enough progress, you wouldn't be spending time searching for table tennis tips and materials, and I wouldn't be writing an answer to your comment. Especially on a channel with not even 9000 subs.

    It was interesting to watch this video. I went out to hit with the robot with just my index finger and thumb on the racket and the difference was amazing. In fact, when I placed my other fingers back on the handle, my stroke got worse! I focused on popping the ball at impact and applying pressure with the index on the forehand shots, and my shots were great. Doing this with my finger actually made me move my body and feet differently when I hit the ball. Very interesting.

    Hye emratthich. I would like to add something. BH and FH requires different timing. BH ball need to be stroke faster right after it bounce from the table.
    Ive discover this when i was hardly to generate power when changing from fh to bh. The longer you wait to strike BH ball, the lower power and spin it will be generated.
    Thus, the ball will be a tame ball and brutally killed by the opponent.

    • @pingsunday
      @pingsunday 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yes, you are right. BH stroke normally hits sooner than FH.

    hi Emrat, i agree with your video. When first i play table tennis, i dont aware about grip in table tennis. i always have difficult when execute backhand. but someday, i find the grip to execute backhand, so i know about backhand grip and forehand grip.
    after progress several year, i know i must apply some different grip when use backhand and forehand, mainly in thumb finger when execute backhand like your video said. So I Agree about your explain about backhand and forehand grip. because i experience about that. btw, I am from Indonesia. i already follow your video from beginning.
    I am not fans about chinese technique but acknowledge good technique, no matter chinese or western technique. I Think table tennis technique have all plus minus. hahaha!
    Maybe for european, playing lob ball is really interesting so many european like Maze, Samsonov, Saive use as their weapon. but for chinese player, it only for emergency defence and they dont depend from that, because there are so many tactic againts
    lob ball (Drop shot, Smash to side,Etc).
    And As Table tennis Fans, I Really Appreciate your video and i know it not easy make that videos. You must put your time to create that. Hope with your videos, we can grow stronger and more love table tennis. See You!

    Hello Emratthich
    I noticed that the Waldner senso v1 is not a good Allround blade.
    Could you tel me if Donic Persson power allround or Donic Appelgren woulb be good ?
    If not, I have a Nittaku Shake def ( small - le l'ai scié). It has carbon but it's not really fast so perhaps it could also be ok as allround blade.
    Thank you Int advance for your answer. Best wisches.

    • @pingsunday
      @pingsunday 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      you are right ! I've tried senso v1 and I don't like it. It lacks of power and the feeling is not very good.
      I prefer Appelgren than Persson blade. The nittaku def is a good DEF+ ALL blade too, however it's rather large blade I think ?

      @pingsunday 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      very good question ! the western european forehand topspin contacts the ball at the position from 12am to 3am (on top of the ball). The advantage of chinese technique is you can contact the ball a little lower. So you can contact at 3am even at 4 am. Chinese coach normally say "wrap" the ball with your racket. With a longer gesture, and lower contact position on the ball. you can "wrap" the ball as long as you can, so add spin and speed to the stroke. bests.

    Hi mister, i write for France. Merci beaucoup for your teaching videos. I made translations of your videos for tittle and subtittle because it's realy important for French players to learn all of your contents, coach never give a complete lesson in France. Theoric points are not teached, it's realy dommageable, so thank you so very much. W.Belliard near Nantes.

    Hey ! Awesome video ! I wanted to ask if i should have pressure on my thumb if i play backhand defense ?

    • @pingsunday
      @pingsunday 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You mean chopping by the BH far from the table?
      You chop with normal of LP rubber ?

    • @CrazyZoneLp
      @CrazyZoneLp 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      EmRatThich i mean with LP cause im a defender ^^ and what should i do when i defend with forehand with a normal rubber ? :)

    • @pingsunday
      @pingsunday 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      for a chopper, it's a little different. As you play a little far from the table, you must support your stroke with your very long movement of your forearm. So you should apply the pressure mainly on the index finger when you chop both side. BH LP: You should apply pressure with the index. And also FH (normal rubber) you should apply pressure on the index too. Try it, and you will see, the ball is more consistent.

    Great video, i need to try to emphatize more the correct way of holding the grip, since i dont do it naturally, i have to keep thinking during the match "hold the bat correctly" or i lose the grip.
    I'm kinda sad you didnt read the comment on the previous video but i understand you are really busy so i hope you read it when you have time. long story short.... i was asking videos about chopping and LP techniques. Greetings from Argentina !

      hi. I'm sorry about that. As I have many thing to says.
      I will discuss about the chopping and LP users later. :)
      I know that all of you have many many question, that the coach didn't correct it.
      And I will try to cover, but it takes time. Stay tuned.

    • @pingsunday
      @pingsunday 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      for LP chopping the most important thing is you must support the ball with the movement of your forearm, and you must open your racket (LP side) as flat as possible. I will cover it with the video.

      mechanism, emphasize, aspect, muscle
      by the way, i'm pretty sure the western people know how to apply power in a split second to their strokes - the problem is that their muscles are not very explosive. Africans have no power problem as you can see from Quadri Aruna etc.

    Ah, I was getting worried... Good to hear news from you!
    I'm from Brazil, and here we speak portuguese :)
    I've checked your other videos about grip and paid more attention to Wang Hao's grip, and by mimicking it, I solved my finger pain issue! I used to leave my middle finger straight and now I bend it.
    When the opportunity arrives, I'd like to know more about how to improve my performance during matches, as it's always far behind my performance during training sessions. Some tips about how to concentrate and stay calm would be nice! I tend to get angry when I make mistakes and sometimes I rush and make bad shots or just simply miss the ball.
    About the penhold grip, I suppose everything will be explained in the next video, right? Because I'm very curious about how the muscle group thing works for penholders, since the thumb and the index finger are on the same side of the blade. I started supporting my RPB with my thumb, which is now deeper into the blade, and I feel this stroke has been improving.
    Well, thanks for staying with us despite being busy!
    P.S: Is Zhang Jike your favourite player? He appears a lot in your videos haha!

    Emratthich, pensez-vous que le bois donic waldner senso v1 avec dhs skylkne neo 2 et joola énergie x'tra pourrait bien convenir pour un jeu allrond avec un revêtement chinois sur le coup droit ?

    • @pingsunday
      @pingsunday 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've tried senso v1 and I don't like it. Another peoples say it's a good blade. But it's not a good all round blade.
      And why Skyline neo 2 for an all round game? Chinese rubber is not for an all round game, it's for an powerfull attack game.
      If you want an all round game, it's better to choose an all round blade, and high tensor rubber: ten05, ten64, calibra lt+, 2.0 mm only

    Cool Video but i have still a question.
    I now have an Allround Blade Donic waldner Allplay and it weights 80g. Do you think a heavier blade is better or should i stay with it and blade harder rubber to increase the weight ?

    • @pingsunday
      @pingsunday 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      80g is too light. The best weight range is from 89g to 93g.
      It's very difficult to improve your technique with a light blade.
      My setup is 210g.
      Bests,

    • @Secarlen

      ok thank you do you have a recommendation for a blade which is under 60 Euro. I thought about the OPS Expert but it is quite expensive ?

    • @rafefleming
      @rafefleming 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Can you make up for the light blade with heavy rubbers?

    • @pingsunday
      @pingsunday 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes. But with most commercial blade, you can't choose the blade weight. With 80+ Euro, you can ask the blade maker to adjust your blade weight. Choose OSP Expert 90g. The blade is very important, so spend money on the blade is good. For all round blade, the OSP Expert is one of the best all round in the market now.

    • @Secarlen
      @Secarlen 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Okay thank you very much for your answer.
      After the round i am going to buy a OSP Expert power allround blade. So it is a longer time and i can buy it ^^
