Hey Katie im new on the guitar but i’ve played the ukulele before and i just got my first guitar yesterday that should be a gift for my birthday on November 5 but this 1 thing is happening on me idk if its just me but i don’t get it on my ukulele that my finger hurts like really hurts alot and then it seems that chords that was played in every youtube video doesn’t sound right on my guitar its in tune so i don’t know whats happening should i grab my ukulele and throw it on the guitar, that might works but im not sure please help me my ukulele is staring at me and saying that i need to throw the guitar on a burning fire and throw the ashes in the river and throw as many trash as possible on the river so it turns black and the ashes can’t be found anymore. What am i thinking while typing this omg..

I understand where you're coming from. The guitar is going to take some time to get used to. Every instrument has a different amount of tension, and the pressure that you need to push down on the strings in order to produce a sound is going to be different than the ukulele. The ukulele has nylon strings, so that is also a factor. Don't give up. You'll develop more muscles in your hands that you never thought you'd need in order to play, but you can do it. Just give it time and practice. It's similar to the uke, but it is a different world.

+Mason Weimer I totally understand where you're coming from. With palm muting, it can be tricky, so just keep playing and try to to think about perfection. For me, it just took time to get used to not pressing too hard on the strings and still applying pressure enough to mute the strings. If you are better than you were yesterday, celebrate that and keep thinking about moving forward. On the technical side of things, just focus on the first 3 strings closest to your nose with strumming. Just use a flick of your wrist and thinks short movements. I hope that helps 😀. Keep strumming and don't give up.
Move your palm with your hand together and always touch the strings. What i mean is, as you can see when she's playing, she doesn't keep her palm in a specific place and move her fingers to play the music, she moves then together. Just try not to touch very hard cuz it won't make a sound

Make sure your wrist isn't behind the fret board and that you bring it a bit further forward. Sometimes this helps when ur fingers are just that little bit too short

What is barcord? And why should we eliminate them as beginners? I don't have that clip. Nothing I play sounds like the chords you're playing, even from below the 3d line.
These are great questions. A barre chord is typically when you use your index finger to cover some, the majority, or all of the strings to form a chord. In my experience, barre chords for my beginning students have been intimidating and frustrating if introduced too early in the learning process. I have them focus on open chords first to build up their hand strength and then introduce barre chords once they're ready. The clip is a capo, and I used that to match the original key of the track so that you could play along with the original song, and my chords would match up with the Imagine Dragons track. You can still play this song without the capo, and the chords would sound like the structure of the song; however, it won't match the original key that the song is in if you wanted to play along with the track. I try to match the original artist's interpretation of the song if possible. I hope that clarifies any confusion. Thanks for watching and have a great day.

If your having trouble, play a C cord, but move your middle and ring finger down a string. Leave your pointer in the same place. 😊
