    I'm doing a lot of upgrades on my TJ this coming spring and summer and Tom Woods is on my list . My rear driveshaft has already been upgraded when I did the SYE a couple years ago , but I'm going to have them make another one for a spare and have them make one for the front . I love their products and the fact their only 10 minutes from our house . Not related but I just ordered the Vision Manx wheels for it , like the ones you have . Take care and be safe my friend and sending some love to Pinto .

    So I just installed the metal cloak long arms on my jku thanks to you! Now I’m running the same thing this Jeep is and I’m finding that at metal cloaks recommend long arms lengths at 33 1/4 that my teraflex speed bump are off by like an inch. My question is did you run in to this problem? And did you have to shorten the arms if so do you happen to have a idea on the arm lengths ?

    • @AutoEdits
      @AutoEdits  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I only started at that measurement and adjusted to get the bump stops to hit right and pinion angle perfect. I don't remember the final measurements but they would be different on all Jeeps. Takes a lot of time and patience for that part.

    What constitutes a flange at the front axle vs a yoke? My 2015 Jk front dana 30 kept the factory flange when installing my 1350 shafts per tom woods instructions. I will be upgrading my axles end of year maybe to a dana 44 / 60.

    • @AutoEdits
      @AutoEdits  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have the same setup on my Jeep as you described and will be 44/60 by the end of the year as well. I personally like the flanges on the pinion side as well but most of the axle kits come with yokes.

  • @TribeOfSkate
    @TribeOfSkate ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hey Jason! : Did you remove the rubber pinion seals before putting the Tom Woods billet pieces in? I would imagine so because the RTV creates the new seal for the splines, but I have not seen many videos of people taking those seals out. It almost looks like they put them into that seal.

    • @AutoEdits
      @AutoEdits  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The only seal I removed was the one attached to the stock yolk.

    • @AutoEdits

    At what lift hight is it recommended to swap out your drive shafts i just lifted my jeep 2.5 with 35’s and i hear a noise when i take off after its been running it goes away

    • @stevenm4117
      @stevenm4117 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am not an expert so take this advice at face value. That being said...If the noise goes away after the Jeep warms up, it is probably not the drive shaft. When a noise occurs as you're accelerating, I would assume it is coming from the transmission. This makes more sense to me because as the transmission fluid warms up, it has better lubrication and can make the noise disappear. I had the same issue on my 2008 JK before I sold it. Sadly, I never fixed the issue to know what exactly it was. I had a 3 inch lift and 35's as well! Lots of fun.

    • @Avg0092
      @Avg0092 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      To be honest I haven’t checked the tranny fluid but i did have signs of a grease on my driveshaft

    • @stevenm4117
      @stevenm4117 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Avg0092 It may be a combination of things. If you're not mechanically inclined (like me), I'd suggest taking it to a shop and getting a check-up on it. The "Mom and Pop" shops seem to be really good at diagnosing issues without trying to up-sell unnecessary parts. That will give you a good baseline on where to start and where to look. Other than that, Jeeps seem to be pretty reliable, even when people beat on them. Keep watching these types of videos to educate yourself on how to work on it! Autoedits is a great channel.

    • @AutoEdits
      @AutoEdits  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There is some good advice already here (thanks guys) It depends on how you use your Jeep. Hard wheeling can break stuff at any lift but 3.5 " lift is as far as I pushed mine.
