Removing a tree out of a tree

- This video is around a year and a half old from the day it was uploaded. Today is January 11th, 2024. The video was filmed November 2022. Some slow, goofy action while rigging a couple sticks over the house, birdbath, and dogwood tree. "Don't smash the dogwood!". Everything was cleaned up and hauled off the property. In the video, you'll see a large cavity ontop of the first lead that couldn't be seen from the ground. This limb went clear over more than half of the house. After removing the first lead, we moved to a second lead growing over the neighbors directly nextdoor- we got the "go-ahead" while we were working on the first limb. Both of these leads we removed had zero foliage throughout the year. Surely the cavity didn't help the first one, but we are unsure why only these two limbs started to die back. Is it possible oak wilt is the cause? Wouldn't oak wilt kill the entire tree in under a season, not just two leads? We are still learning everyday and looking for more insight to those who may have it.
I'll post a follow-up clip when I can next time we are in the area. Leave your thoughts below in the comments please on what you think after seeing the video. If you've read this far, thank you for following along and you certainly have a solid attention span! We appreciate the support!

You are an awesome arborist dude. I love your videos. How much do you typically shoot for to make an hour when bidding jobs for full cleanup?
You're too kind ! We've came a long way, but still have far to go. We're always willing and open to learning something new. Every job is different; different scenery , work-scope and hazards involved. I can't give you set numbers for bidding because everyone has different expenses or overhead, but I will say we don't bid by the hour. We try to bid by the job. At times by the day. The problem (from past experience) is that homeowners expect the stars from you when quoting by the day or hourly rate. It's easier on everyone and more clear to just say "it's x amount to do the whole project, x amount to only do this or x amount to do this". That way, there is no confusion or expectations except to complete the work that was agreed upon. Hope that helps!
I would never hire ol no PPE Mike. Seems like a massive liability
Mike is his own man. He runs his own tree service and carries his own insurance 😎 We love that guy
Yuuuuuge 🎉
A Y'UNIT!
