Would love to se a short scale SG Thinline with a Firebird at the neck and a Wide Range at the brigde with one of them fancy tailpieces like on Archtop guitars but with a regular Les Paul bridge. Thanks for making these wonderful instruments.
Amazing range of very different tones out of this instrument. Loved it though I know I could never afford it. Yes, you can play with the neck p/u a little but it was still pretty sweet as is. Thanks.
I always enjoy your videos when you play the Tele with the Charlie Christian pick up in the neck. That guitar has a smooth sound from initial pick attack through the sustained note. I like this Ribbecke guitar too but the note attack sounds more percussive. Certainly a tone more compatible with blues tunes. But for me the percussive initial note attack becomes ear fatiguing after a few minutes. I suppose a compressor pedal in front of the amp would smooth out the pick attack.
Very clean and punchy neck pickup. Bridge pickup has a bit of distortion.Beautiful wood. I agree with others here that the headstock doesn’t look like it fits on the guitar. Tom is a master, so I’m sure between Tom and Tim, it will get well sorted.
Fantastic playing and a different sounding Tele..What are you running it through? Definitely has some growl and snarl when you dig in Dont mind the headstock..Have enough Tele's with the same one Leo designed.. We listen with our ears, Sir..That bridge pickup is amazing...Love it..Shal
I love your playing and instruction Tim. I've gotten a lot out of your Truefire and youtube lessons. Thank you! I've got a favor to ask of you...Though I love the old standards and do study them, there are many I'm not familiar with. There's nothing more frustrating than watching a video of someone playing a song that you'd like to learn, but the name of the tune is never mentioned. If you could please try and include the names of the songs you play. (I think you usually do, but you sometimes miss it.) Second is backing tracks. It's much appreciated when you provide a link to the backing track, but if you can't do that if you could post the name of the backing track with info of where to find it. Thanks so much Tim.
The neck pickup sounded a bit flat and uninspiring to me, but the bridge was just the opposite. The guitar looks great. The playing was tasty as usual 😊
See this is just not accurate because Tim could be given a Micky Mouse Guitar 🎸 with rubber bands for strings and he would still sound amazing so this post is going to sound amazing no matter the guitar 🎸!
Not trying to be negative. The guitar looks & sounds great. I only would like to be able to play guitar a lot better than I do. At 75 years old & with only a Fender Roadworn (2010). I admire both the guitar, the builder & the talent of Time Lerch.
Probably conditioning from seeing nothing but the fender style headstock on every tele copy over the last 70 years. I think it looks fine. Guitarists are a strange breed in how they cling to the past. Three main guitar styles get repeated endlessly with the slightest tweaks, and every ad has to say warm vintage tone.
Some were asking about a solo guitar performance with the TestaCaster here you go th-cam.com/video/uHK_8FFQeHM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=jxXm8aoPzIabHOlx
Thanks everyone for the feedback ~!!! Tom Ribbecke

Gorgeous instrument in the hands of a wonderful player !
Great guitar! Tom’s work is masterful and I love his take on the Tele! Such a great guy and has taught so many luthiers, helped so many players!
Sweet!
I've got it in my head to build a tele with a smaller body and shorter scale length. This vid got my juices flowing!
That’s a beauty Tim. Awesome playing.
What tone! Smoooooth, clear, and that action!

I greatly enjoyed your performance. Guitar sounds good too.
For lack of a better word: ‘snappy’. Love it.
Lovely playing and I can see you were enjoying yourself. Gorgeous guitar, but I wish the back was the front!
Sounds great!!
Uncle Tim, the best way to hear the tone is by playing chord melody, please won't you do a demo for us with this guitar?😃

Any info on the neck pickup tim - sounds great!
Nice present You’re giving to your guitar builder friend 👏 True that this head stock is strange on that body… Thanks for the blues Tim
Nice headstock design
👍👍👍

Tim Lerch, we want to know more about the specs!
Short scale?
Dios, qué belleza. (God, what a beauty)

The song is sweet Lorraine
Tolle Gitarre...toller Gitarrist
Looks and sounds wonderful, Tim!! [so ... Ribbecke tele ... I'm guessing $15K? Can't find it online ...]

Needs a neck humbucker.
I would like to know the scale length and nut width etc.
Scale length is 25.5. the nut is 1 11/16.
Great guitar, the headstock is just as wrong,as the PRS Silver Star’s is. It would be a deal breaker for me. Sounds good though.
See this is just not accurate because Tim could be given a Micky Mouse Guitar 🎸 with rubber bands for strings and he would still sound amazing so this post is going to sound amazing no matter the guitar 🎸!
Beautiful guitar. But the head stock just looks wrong to me. Just my opinion. Tim probably make any guitar sound great.

Framus made Tele style guitars with very similar headstocks.
Huh yeah it does look a little odd now that you point it out! Nice axe though. Great as always, Tim
To be pedantic, the telecaster had a paddle-style/snakehead headstock before it had the foot-style. :)
Can't stand that 3+3 headstock
Tim, at 7:25 on this video how did you slide down from the high Bb without moving your hand? Quite a trick
I flubbed a note and fixed it. I don’t usually do that kind of fixing on videos like this but I couldn’t resist. You win a prize for noticing it. 😊
@ I love your playing, and there's no shame in fixing the occasional clam. Keep up the good work! 🎸
