Though "The Old Dark House" movie from 1932 had 5 people *staying* in a creepy house with an odd "family" because the 5 *needed* to stay there in cold rainy weather with both a landslide and a flood blocking them from going anywhere else. That's a pretty good movie if you like old films, too. It has Boris Karloff in it, so that's cool. You might want to avoid the 1963 version which isn't the same thing - I've seen both, and I don't think the 1963 one has aged anywhere near as well. It's kind of memorable for being so weird with a Noah's Ark Replica in the backyard and time bombs all over the house, though.
