- We're counting on you, Mario! scene has some differences. More people show up to support Mario, shadow sirens and doopliss are nervous, some slight dialogue changes. There are some things I prefer more in the gamecube, especially the SFX but that zoom in of Mario jumping into the final battle it's just epic.

The added touch of the Rogueport residents appearing in the square was a nice touch. Aslo I love how the Stars are literally beacons of light in the darkness.

You can definitely tell the remake has a far more cinematic feel to it especially at the beginning. I think the new music really encapsulates the feeling of everyone rallying to your aid.
The original does the exact same thing, stop trying to make it seem like the remake does everything better

I like the fact that Beldam appears to be yelling for the voices to silence (at least that’s how I interpret it) instead of just looking around like in the original. Also the song during the cutscene got a banger upgrade with the new instrumentation in my opinion
Yeah everyone says the new song is bad but I really like it
I love how they made the crowds a lot bigger in the Switch version, really makes it feel like *everyone* is rooting for you.
Somehow the thing that gets me most is the birds joining in at 3:18
The one thing that sends chills down my spine, when peach breaks free and talks through with an echoey voice.

@@Betabrawler I did this all last night and the whole final battle sent chills down my spine. The shadow queen was even scarier than when I was eleven and I’m thirty one now. On top of that, I teared up a little with the detail of more characters cheering Mario and company on. This whole game has been great and if it doesn’t get game of the year, we riot!

Something else is there’s a delay with peach and shadow queen’s arms being raised, almost like for a split second, peach was the one in control over the shadow queen, even smiling before being forced away. That’s some next level details

I absolutely love this scene so much! Seeing all of the NPCs you met come together to give Mario support. One thing I love in the remake is that even more NPCs show up, including the citizens of Rogueport.
There are very few things in games that make me emotional, this is one of them. When the music kicks in man it's so good I love how everyone cheers you on to kill this evil shadow bitch, it's awesome. The new ost and animations (especially character animations) makes the moment even more powerful then it already was :D
It makes the original seem kinda lame in comparison, especially when a good number of the scenes only had around 4-5 characters at max. I STILL personally wish that during the Keelhaul Key scene, Cortez was cheering you on too.
They added his ghost minions, which are in a way, a part of him. So that could be their way of having Cortez there, literally in spirit

I love all the characters they added in the remake... and also they fixed the thing with King K. (they had Shady Koopa say something that was clearly meant for King K., not sure why they mixed up the characters).

2:12 I never noticed that they used the wrong Koopa for King K in the original.
I found that very odd after replaying the gamecube version (before switch). As far I remember that Shady Koopa was the jerk who stole first good cake.

@@nascour5991 OP is referring to the dialogue change of the mayor. At 4:29 he says "Da" (Russian word for yes) in the original and it got replaced by "OK" in the remake.

The Switch version is much more impactful because more characters are throwing support Mario's way, even characters in ROUGEPORT show up. The only fully consistent scene in Chapter 2, but, Chapter 7's actually has all the same NPCs from the GC Version, just in a different formation. In GC, we see:

I named as many as I could remember the names of. Also, when I say "102 Punis"; I'm counting all 101 that joined you in Chapter 2 & the Elder. It's not nerdy to count the Puni Elder as Puni 102.
I kinda wish all the enemies of each Chapter appeared. That's how you'd realize things are dire when even Crayzee Dayzees, Hyper Goombas and Thwomp Statues are cheering you on. But, biggest miss was Cortez in Rougeport not showing up or saying ANYTHING. I don't know if Ms. Mowz would show up in the Switch version of the Rougeport Scene if you don't recruit her. She probably would since Ms. Mowz literally doesn't move the story along.
Also, the updated music is amazing, it really emphasizes the dire situation the world faces.
Always did wonder who the "My Darling" voice was for since it seemed oddly specific. Good to know for sure now that's it's Koopie Koo for Koops thanks to the new color coding. That's sweet.
The Thousand-Year Door remake has to be an example of an amazing remake that pretty much replaces the original from a general and casual stand point.
(also seeing how much bigger the crowds are in the remake compared to the original is honestly kinda surprising, since the whole vibe of "everyone is rooting for you" kinda gets diminished a bit when you notice how there aren't as many side-characters and NPCs as there probably should considering how big of an event this is in the world of Paper Mario, so I'm glad to see that a lot more people are present in the remake)

I don’t like what they did with the crystal stars in the remake, they look metallic and look less like crystals, and I especially can’t get over the white line that goes around the shape of the star

Yea, I'm using the gamecube badge to hear the original shadow queen theme when I get to that part
I just watched both back to back, and I think the metal enhances and strengthens the mood! The world is giving you the strength you need to destroy the Shadow Queen! It's time to get PUMPED!!

The remake song ruins the original, that unnecessary rock, there is a saying: don't fix what isn't broken.

Better if it is the worst version that has been made of a Mari music, I have seen remixes made by fans better than this auditory blasphemy, the rock ruins the feeling and the mystique of the original that sought to be sentimental and hopeful, this is just messing rock a voice that only says aaaa aaa, the meaning of the original is lost putting an electric guitar is not improving, it is getting worse.

It feels different and not gonna lie, initially I wasnt fond of the heavy metal parts, but eventually I started to enjoy the theme in the remake and it feels hard to go back to the original
