When she was explaining that we have a very big Japanese community here and Seungwoo said "I can't even imagine, then what are they called?" And she was like what do you mean they're Brazilians they were born and raised in Brazil, I was screaming with joy! This is one of the things that I find really annoying, Brazil doesn't have a stereotype body or face or race, we're so diverse! People from outside Brazil are the ones who keep trying to stereotype us with samba, soccer and the Amazon, and by the way I'm not trying to be rude or anything but it does get annoying hearing the same things over and over again, this video was a reminder for me of how much people still don't know about our culture besides the very same things. Anyways, I loved Soya she was amazing explaining everything, pls call her again!!! 💛

How not to be proud of such a beautiful and diverse country, where most of them don't care about the lustful appearance of color, where we don't know how to surprise the difference or social class, only love, intensity and familiarity, which is what prevails. The data make Brazil one of the countries with the greatest sociocultural diversity on the planet. We have a strong culture that is diverse, from the world all brought together because of the strong migrations of the 2nd world war, not only those who wanted to migrate here but also those who had no choice suffered a lot, and to all our past suffered from our ancestors, where our people were wronged and silenced by voice, because the politics here that was and is so corrupt, these days they want to silence us and take advantage of the natural riches of our country. people see our country from outside they can't even imagine amid the bad things they see in the news, that our people are the ones who support our country and vice versa, people from outside only see the humblest people who come from the periphery who are from slums, and then they associate vandals, thieves, poor murderers, which is quite the opposite. to say that we are a big family, where anyone comes from everywhere in the world, we grow up knowing everyone, that's where the nicest and most charitable people come from, but they don't get the credit. But as I said before, what prevails is the great and vast pride and love we have for our beautiful and diverse country.

In brazil we have 5 regions, I live in the north of brazil, in the state called Pará, here the indigenous culture is more strong, so we have things that other states don't have, like our typical dance "carimbó", and our culinary that still remains aspects from the indigenous culture. In the south of brazil, some states have a strong european culture, so if I go there is like a completely different place for me. So yeah, here every place has their own culture, each state has their own culinary, dance, music etc. But we have parties that are for all states, like "festa junina" and "carnaval"

I loved! As a Brazilian, I was very happy to finally see a Brazilian explaining how our country works and how it is formed. We are such a diverse people that there is no way to place stereotypes. As much as we have a lot in common in our culture, we do and appreciate it in a unique way. Always trying to respect others the way they are, regardless of creed, class, color, etc. We don't care where you came from, if you were born in Brazil, you will be Brazilian 😊. We will not treat you differently for this. He is a Brazilian citizen and no one will tell him otherwise.

As a Brazilian from Rio de Janeiro who have been almost everywhere in the country, I think Sorrayla's comments hit the mark most of the time. Nonetheless, I need to make some few notes:
8:38 - Being a BIG population in a BIG country, Brazilians have a diversified musical taste. Samba is strong in Rio de Janeiro and Bahia. Funk is a trend among young urban people and Sertanejo (Brazilian country music) is popular in Brazilian agro-States (much like country music in the USA). But there are many other, including rock and MPB (Brazilian Popular Music, such as “Garota de Ipanema” - the latter being the style most known abroad).
9:44 - Football (please, NEVER say soccer!) is, in fact, a big part of Brazilian culture, especially among men. Together with the weather, is the n.1 choice to engage in small talk with people you are not acquainted with. And source of hours of discussion among friends. But among women is indeed a less important topic.
9:57 - Despite the fact the Carnival images seen on foreign TVs are mostly from Rio de Janeiro, Carnival is a HUGE celebration also in Brazilian Northeastern States, notably Bahia and Pernambuco, whose capitals host outstanding celebrations. Valid to say, in these places samba shares space with frevo, maracatu and axé (local Carnival rhythms which, nevertheless, can be heard all year long in the rest of the country too).
Aside those notes, nothing else to add to this excellent interview. Thumbs up!
