I am pretty sure Jade was seeing some of the past iterations of himself....the man trapped under the rock in the root cellar, the Civil War soldier, the colonial skull guy, Christopher....the dates on the wall in the tower were left by Jade/Tabi when they realized who they were and what they needed to do and then were killed by the town monsters before completing their task....it all makes sense now.
You guys ever hear of the Roanoke colony? If not, they were a group of settlers that tried to set up the first colony in north America. They got there in 1585, then 5 years later a ship came to visit them and found they all disappeared and to this day nobody really knows what happened to them. But they have make some discoveries. This season jade saw a vision of a guy wearing colonial clothes drinking blood out of skull. They found evidence that the people of Roanoke faced starvation and resorted to cannibalism. Everyone in fromville has disappeared in the real world without a trace. The Roanoke colony disappeared without a trace, and we still haven't found their remains. Its like they vanished into thin air. The new place in fromville this season was a bunch of simple log cabins with food that wasnt rotting, that looks exactly like an early colony in north America. The first people in fromville and the monsters, are the Roanoke colony.
I definitely think the show is gonna try a Roanoke connection, but just for posterity's sake. We know what happened to Roanoke. The word "Croatoan" that was carved in the posts was a location and the name of a Tribe that lived in the region that had a history of not being immediately hostile. Notably they did not leave the paddy-cross that was to be a sign of duress, despite the fortifications they had built. They had left in an organized manner, dismantling some structures and digging up buried belongings. There were no signs of violence inside the colony. No cannibalism either. And in fact in the days before reaching Roanoke, John White had been at Croatoan and seen smoke plumes and the tracks of European boots but did not yet realize that they were his colony. Wind and War prevented them from returning after, but later Natives of the Chesapeake Bay would claim to have met Europeans despite no known contact having occurred yet. Some Natives even had pale eyes and hair and and already knew some European language and customs. There are reports of settlements with stone and timber walls. Unfortunately they were also victims of the conflict with the Powhatan. There's not really any other explanation, though the mystery does perpetuate.
@thomaswillard6267 and I'm also realizing that I'm a huge idiot. Jamestown and Roanoke were 2 different colonies. I thought they were the same colony. I think Roanoke could still work at the first colony, then people from the Jamestown colony could have come in the next cycle.
Corteon, the guy who plays Ellis, did an interview where he said this was essentially gis favorite theory. He was asked what his theory was and he said he knows the creators are interested in history and "the injestices of the past". Ever since seing that interview (prior to ep10), what you stated makes the most sense. I dont think it wil specifically Roanoke though, but rather a similar situation under a different name.
I want the answer of why (if this is such an ancient evil) do the current night monsters have 50/60s attire? What, do they change clothes every time there is a new reincarnation cycle? Something isn't adding up yet.
Yeah that’s getting thrown around the internet, we discussed that pre show but all agree that would really hurt the momentum of a show that’s just now gaining speed. Would seem to most like a rug-pull
I loved the theory video contribution about Jamestown! Immediately had to research this a bit and found a few more areas of overlap: - The “Starving Time” Cannibalism Tales: During the winter of 1609-1610, known as the “Starving Time,” food shortages were so severe that some settlers resorted to cannibalism. This dark period has inspired ghost stories about the restless spirits of those who suffered horrific deaths, haunting the ruins of Jamestown. Skeletal remains uncovered in recent years suggest evidence of these desperate acts, further fueling supernatural lore. Restless spirits that suffered deaths? Cannibalism? Reminds me a bit of our night-roaming creatures. - Powhatan Spiritual Beliefs and the English Fear of the Forest: For the Powhatans, the forest was alive with spirits, both protective and malevolent. Shamans, or priests, mediated between the spiritual and physical worlds, often conducting rituals to appease the spirits. To the English settlers, the dense and unfamiliar forests were places of danger and mystery. They feared ambushes from Native warriors but also believed the woods might harbor witches or demonic forces. This belief likely deepened during times of despair and starvation. - The Legend of Okee, the Powhatan Spirit: The Powhatans worshiped a spirit called Okee, who required offerings to ensure balance and protection. Okee was often represented through carved idols or rituals. English settlers, misunderstanding Powhatan spiritual practices, saw these rituals as evidence of “devil worship,” adding to their fears of the land’s supernatural dangers. The Curse of Chief Powhatan: Some folklore suggests that Chief Powhatan placed a curse on the settlers for their mistreatment of his people and their encroachment on his land. This curse is often cited in ghost stories, claiming it caused the colony’s hardships, from famine to disease. - Witches and Omens: The English settlers carried their own superstitions to Jamestown. They feared witches and saw unexplained illnesses, crop failures, and natural disasters as signs of malevolent forces. Settler journals occasionally mention “dark omens,” such as strange lights in the sky (ie lighthouse) or the appearance of animals like owls (or wolves?), which were often considered harbingers of doom. - The River and the Spirits: The James River itself held spiritual significance for the Powhatans, who believed it was a living entity connected to the spirit world. English settlers, on the other hand, reported hearing strange cries or seeing ghostly lights over the water, attributing these phenomena to drowned settlers or angry spirits. Again… ghostly lights / lighthouse, missing river, Boyd’s boat, Elgin’s obsession with the lake of tears etc. -- Question: the area surrounding Fromville strikes me as fairly compatible with my memories of Virginia’s highlands and forests… does anyone with more knowledge about US geography and vegetation have any comments about this?
@@wearetemporary hi there, I appreciate the vote of confidence. I usually have about 2ish minutes to get my theory out. I love that it got you doing a deep dive. I started looking into the tribes and languages around jamestown as well to see if Angkhooey fell under that umbrella. No luck. Closest thing I came to was a cree sounding word. But they weren't around Jamestown. I am leaning towards the creatures, jade and Tabitha being some of the original settlers there. It was the first English longterm settlement in North America. I've looked at other colonies around that time as well. Some one did point out the roanoke colony, but it used 7 ships. Thay cave drawing seems to have depicted the early story of from. 3 ships arrive, the people make a sacrifice of 7 to a large red squid like entity, there are 2 that opposed. The only situation that had three ships that I could find was the james town settlers.
I would love to see that and discuss!!! Maybe set up a schedule to watch Lost episodes with From episodes weekely.... I'd be down - like a fun hw assignment!! It meets my teacher approval 😉
Thanks to the Scene Invaders. The discussions are very interesting and bring in some great information. On another note, I would enjoy a Scene Invader recap on Lost. It would have been great to have the group to go through the series with. I have recently gone back and started watching again.
Thanks for using my question. That was awesome. What if Jade and Tabitha are being reincarnated as punishment for not doing the sacrifices. You have to remember and relive this forever.
Guy's one thing about what everyone keeps saying about the wait for S4, there is no official production start date or S4 release date, Harold P. said this. The whole thing about the longer wait time between seasons is made up by a random Vanity Fair or Forbes article stating that we MAY have a longer wait in-between seasons. Look at it this way S3 was announced at the end of S2 in June 2023 and there were 2 strikes that didn't end till Nov. 2023. Filming of S3 didn't start till Feb 2024 and S3 was amazingly released in Sept 2024 , 15 months from the renewal announcement. S4 was announced at end of S3 in November 2024 and there are no writers/actors strikes coming up so say filming starts in Feb 2025 it could conceivably be released by September 2025. If it starts later, say March/April it could still be released in November/December 2025 and it would be 1 year to 13 months since the end of S3. Heck even if S4 comes out in Jan/Feb of 2026 it would be at most 15 months which is the usual for the past 3 seasons.
We should watch it answer compare it to Lost (idea from another comment) I'd be down to watch, compare & discusss on the off season while we wait for season 4!!!
I’m rewatching the series for a third time, I’ve got a notebook and created a timeline, the kind we learn in elementary school, along with one of those brainstorming clouds 💭 I’ve turned into Jade….🤦🏻♀️ My family thinks I’m crazy and joined some cult. My daughter said “oh God, are you doing cult homework again?”. 😂 Anyway, a few trails went cold for me…..Victor was walking around town alone playing hide and seek, he saw BIW dropping knowledge to Chris, then Vick ran his mouth and got him mom killed, blah blah we know the rest, however, Miranda must not have seen Christopher as a threat if Vick and Sis were playing unsupervised , so what happened between that time and when she told the kids to hide from Creepy Christopher in the cellar while she took off and met her demise ? What happened between them that made him a threat to the point that she didn’t trust him around the kids alone??? What would Christopher have done to them? Sacrificed them? Was Victor supposed to bite the dust that night like mom? Did “kill the boy” mean Victor not Ethan but Sara didn’t know? That’s one cloud, I have one more for now💭… Ok so Tabby had dreams of From Land when she was little. Are they memories of a past life? If so, did she grow up there to adulthood during that lifetime? Was she sacrificed herself as a child? Were her parents there as well, because I’m sure she wasn’t walking down the street that little and saw the tree, if she came there that little then it had to have been with someone, right? Ugh, I need a drink, maybe I’ll start seeing Tom. 🤦🏻♀️
Check out the shroud Father Katri was wearing for the service when the Matthew's family was deciding where to live. I never noticed the talisman symbol, sun... and a few others. They all match the symbols in the tunnels showing the sacrifice. Also the waitress skirt that Sara was wearing has an authors name from a book that I thought had something to do with the Lost storyline?? There are so many references to literature like you find in the Lost series. The book that Kenny and Kristie are reading a passing back/forth. Lots of fun clues I am still finding while rewatching. I am also going to start Lost again and am super excited that you guys are going to cover it! Cheers !
I think Jim is the man in yellow and at some stage sacrificed his children. This change when Tabitha found Henry and he changed Jim’s ways. On some time line though he did sacrifice Julie and Ethan. Remember the phone call, “they’re not your kids anymore” Also, maybe Jade showing up the same day as the Matthew’s family wasn’t supposed to happen so there are two different Jim’s somehow.
Paging Dr. Mabuse.... From has been great for engagement & super fun. We need more episodes stat!.... PAGING DR MABUSE get to the E.R.!!! haha *Great video you guys rock
Im pretty sure the show will literally end up being the story they tell the children to give them hope. The man in yellow is the big bad and he is constantly trying to intervene to keep the story from coming true. They will ultimately succeed because i think jade and tabitha will story walk (or julie) back to when the children were sacrificed and tell them the story that we are watching. Will just come full circle, like in Intersteller.
Please talk about Lost My favorite show!! Lost was so great!! Watching it now and love your commentary Dr Mabuse theory is spot-on !! love the philosophy of the writing process as it challenges the viewer- as in, what would we do in that situation ( we all yell at the show, but love it anyway
I put this in the Discord and Im gonna put it here too. I've seen alot about Jamestown mentioned in different theory videos but not so much one of the greatest American mysteries never to be solved, the disappearance of the Roanoke Colony in North Carolina. It was started in 1587, 81 years after the earliest date in the FROM lighthouse, and was mysteriously gone by 1590. All kinds of theories and speculation has gone into the research of The Lost Colony where 115 English settlers mysteriously disappeared. Maybe that were the buildings in the FROMville Settlement came from, the old wood buildings with the healthy vegetables and spooky totems....just an idea
IMO they are not striking back season 4. they are going to fight with each other. there might be a war within the town. sarah might be blamed for jim too. remember nobody saw what happened to jim. it's going to be like tilly. tilly + elgin + jim might mean sarah is toast. we saw town folk go rogue a couple of times like randall grabbing up donna and the dude shooting boyd. sheesh
PLEASEEEE make the Lost/From comparison video. Even though I didn't like season 6 of Lost, I enjoyed the ride and still recommend the show. Just finished my first watch last week
BiW is one of the ankooey kids. They are all dressed in white as well. But something different happened with him. He half assed got away or something and now can help save the others.
Does anyone else find it strange that future Julie would come back and try and save Jim not only do I think Jim comes back I’m guessing he is important to the ending
OMG check this out: Cicadas spend most of their lives underground as nymphs, feeding on tree roots. The length of their hibernation period depends on the species of cicada, and can be 13 or 17 years: the dates in the lighthouse?
I like watching you guys but The Faceless Girl is someone whose been hitting theories on the money. Idk her personally, so no plugs. Just cool content for cool content creators.
34:49 oh I like that because it makes sense why Tilly wanted to be so involved in the pregnancy she missed the first time. I hope Tilly gets an ending and she isn’t our Barb.
Zander, I think you're right about the actor who plays Jim not coming back. I also noticed that he wasn't in the cast photo and hasn't done any press for the show (at least not that I saw). Maybe he was upset about his lesser role in seasons 2 and 3 and wanted out. I dunno.
I have just got a thought. Why were we wondering how the man in yellow came in the middle of the day. Of course the music had something with it. But as the music starts to play the smiley-child starts to come to the world and at the same time the gate to the underground world opens. Same could be with opening some „gate“ From the man in yellow comes to us in the middle of a day. As we have seen something in the Season 2, I guess, as Boyd, Randal, Donna and Jim were in the RV something knock from under the floor. I think it might be him. And now as soon as the music started/or stopped to play monster world is wide open.
Also with Julie being a story Walker I believe she can change events from the past. Ethan said she can't change any part of the story that's been written. I think by story he means the actual show. Meaning she can't change anything we "the viewers" have seen on screen. Something from the past I believe she can change it.
The Julie-Tilly thing, not saying I agree with it because I'm not sure yet, but another thing I would add is that both Julie and Tilly seem to be very friendly and have spent some time with Elgin.
Regarding julie not being able to the change the story is kind of interesting because she basically did change the story Boyd would of died if she would of never thrown him the rope so I think she definitely can alter the story
@28:00 think the finale was after she did a lot of story walking and that was the man in yellow punishing her. Think season 4 will show everything she learned.
The mole is Donna. She didn't want the radio tower. She doesn't want to leave because "she" can't. The night her sister was killed , she trades her life for working for the monster's.
I doubt it. Its not like townspeople keep going missing and come to find out, Donna is feeding them to the mosters. Donna has done nothing but protect people. She wouldn't let Randall out of the diner the night the jouse collapsed. If she was working for the monsters, she would have let him go and she wouldn't have shot out the bus tires, foecing everyone into the diner before dark.
I still haven't ruled out that Ethan is a younger version of the Man in Yellow (or MIY has disguised himself as Ethan). And I still think there's another possibility that Randall could be a younger version of the MIY. Although i don't think Ethan is Randall is MIY
I believe Ethan could be the MIY, he's worn yellow alot and knows the rules of the game. I believe BIW saved Ethan that day in the RV just like BIW saved Victor. MIY came out of the RV when he appeared. Now Ethan knows the rules, is starting to lose his memories like Victor too.
From is basically the sideways world from Lost. The BIW is Jacob, and the MIY is the MIB. Dr Mabuse and the yellow king are also archetypes for the shadow self. The shadow is the blindspot for the ego, that about yourself the ego is completely no knowledge of whatsoever. Like the MIY knowing everything about them and they know nothing of him. The way the story was presented, we are led to believe they moved from the normal world into the special world. I believe there was an original cycle, and Tabitha and Jade existed in the original cycle. They tried to save the children but failed and died and became lingering energy trapped in From. Those who sacrificed their children became monsters. Tabitha and Jade were cursed to live as different archetypes in a fantasy world over and over again, but they are always trapped in From. So, the normal world is a fantasy world, and from is the collective unconscious of the original cycle on a loop trapped because of a curse or by the mechanism that represses memories. S4 is leading to the town massacre, so we should have those rumoured flashbacks. Everything is 12 because the origin of mythology is astronomy. A circle divided by 12.
I definitely think Julie is going to story walk multiple times. I also think that we will see Jim being killed multiple times as Julie tries to go back and save him. Additionally one would have to think that Julie can to some extent change the story otherwise how will the children be saved unless it is just for their souls to be put to rest.
I agree with one of the theories, I don't think going back in time and helping Jim will solve anything, I think she's got to go really far back in time to when it all began, and when she changes what she needs to I believe everything goes to the way it was and everyone goes home 😂😂 obviously it's bot that easy though! And won't happen exactly as I said
Just a thought, probably wrong, but when Jules said the man in yellow is omnipotent it occurred to me and many ppl have said that it’s all Ethan’s or Victor’s dream, nightmare . . . Which never vibed with me since there are so many perspectives however if the man in yellow is omnipotent then it could be his nightmare, coma . . .
Are we just speed passing Julie throwing the rope down to Boyd! If she doesn't do that he dies in the chimney right? So Julie can create change cause she clearly does but Jim just didn't listen.
Lost was my introduction to podcasts! I loved the show soooo much. But with all that build up and promises the last season was very disappointing for me :/. And now I can't rewatch...
Who wants us to keep doing FROM content during the break? Let us know!
A true detective season one video to talk about the king in yellow would be fun

The Mabuse thing is wild especially when you see it as the brand on the Defibrillator is Mabuse.
I loved the theory video contribution about Jamestown! Immediately had to research this a bit and found a few more areas of overlap:
- The “Starving Time” Cannibalism Tales:
During the winter of 1609-1610, known as the “Starving Time,” food shortages were so severe that some settlers resorted to cannibalism.
- Powhatan Spiritual Beliefs and the English Fear of the Forest:
For the Powhatans, the forest was alive with spirits, both protective and malevolent.

English settlers, misunderstanding Powhatan spiritual practices, saw these rituals as evidence of “devil worship,” adding to their fears of the land’s supernatural dangers.
The Curse of Chief Powhatan:
Some folklore suggests that Chief Powhatan placed a curse on the settlers for their mistreatment of his people and their encroachment on his land. This curse is often cited in ghost stories, claiming it caused the colony’s hardships, from famine to disease.
- Witches and Omens:
The English settlers carried their own superstitions to Jamestown.
- The River and the Spirits:
The James River itself held spiritual significance for the Powhatans, who believed it was a living entity connected to the spirit world.

Mabuse is an Easter egg. It’s why the medical equipment on the new Ambulance has “Mabuse” written on it.
Anyone else think the Dr Mabuse picture/painting looks a lot like Miranda’s painting of the man in yellow? I feel like you guys just solved the show 😂
@@mpeters99 it really does! There's a lot there with the Mabuse stuff 💭
Awesome theory
Jules you look great in all the merch 🤗 Can't wait to get my shirt ❤ All the theories are so good.
@@LarisaBayaMomo thanks for getting one too!
Please talk about Lost
My favorite show!! Lost was so great!! Watching it now and love your commentary
Dr Mabuse theory is spot-on !!
love the philosophy of the writing process as it challenges the viewer- as in, what would we do in that situation ( we all yell at the show, but love it anyway
We need more From videos from you guys, you are killing it. At least 1 video a month 😩🙏 please
The guy that talked about the Jamestown theory got me wow!! that is soo cool. None of those things came close to my mind
Yall leave Jim alone!! Loll
IMO they are not striking back season 4. they are going to fight with each other. there might be a war within the town. sarah might be blamed for jim too. remember nobody saw what happened to jim. it's going to be like tilly. tilly + elgin + jim might mean sarah is toast. we saw town folk go rogue a couple of times like randall grabbing up donna and the dude shooting boyd. sheesh
I think we'll find out more about Eloise through Julie story walking
That Julie Tilly theory is 🤯🤯🤯... That one really goes full circle
Please do more From content!!! ❤
PLEASEEEE make the Lost/From comparison video. Even though I didn't like season 6 of Lost, I enjoyed the ride and still recommend the show. Just finished my first watch last week
I AGREE WITH THE OTHER COMMENTATORS: Please do comparison of Lost & From
i really hope tabitha and jade do not get together now. i think it's kinda gross morally since jim just died lol
Im pretty sure Jade is gay so we shall see
Need lots of from content please
They may know most. But not all. Kimono Lady didn't know about Boyd's boat.
@@FoxysFriends 🤯🤯🤯🤯
Jim was in Band of Brothers, has a Leo meme moment.
I hope to see more of the monsters inthe next season.
Same here
Yeah, definitely would love you doing Lost❤
Zander, I think you're right about the actor who plays Jim not coming back. I also noticed that he wasn't in the cast photo and hasn't done any press for the show (at least not that I saw). Maybe he was upset about his lesser role in seasons 2 and 3 and wanted out. I dunno.
julie went back in time, found out everything and wrote the book for ethen, also, really for herself.
3:41 oooh hells yea❤
Julie draged the tent in the forest
I have just got a thought. Why were we wondering how the man in yellow came in the middle of the day. Of course the music had something with it. But as the music starts to play the smiley-child starts to come to the world and at the same time the gate to the underground world opens. Same could be with opening some „gate“ From the man in yellow comes to us in the middle of a day.
As we have seen something in the Season 2, I guess, as Boyd, Randal, Donna and Jim were in the RV something knock from under the floor. I think it might be him. And now as soon as the music started/or stopped to play monster world is wide open.
They will probably do a time jump for the Jade and Tabitha relationship too happen also, besides Ethan's expected growth.
3:36 I recently watch all of Lost and the last 2 seasons were struggle for me. I would love to hear your commentary on it.
1609 is also the number on the ambulance that Tabitha returns to town in!!!!!
Arrive by car, leave by boat.
I think past Sarah is the one who put the stake through the dude’s eye in the past for some reason.
I definitely think Julie is going to story walk multiple times. I also think that we will see Jim being killed multiple times as Julie tries to go back and save him. Additionally one would have to think that Julie can to some extent change the story otherwise how will the children be saved unless it is just for their souls to be put to rest.
Where do you sign up for the Discord server? I feel like I’m an old man now, lol
Aaaaaand I just found it. Sorry for the noise, lol

@3:34 LOST is best ever in my opinion too
Except season 6
Please do the Lost-From comparisson
I agree with one of the theories, I don't think going back in time and helping Jim will solve anything, I think she's got to go really far back in time to when it all began, and when she changes what she needs to I believe everything goes to the way it was and everyone goes home 😂😂 obviously it's bot that easy though! And won't happen exactly as I said
I agree I think the MIY will be mabuse/King in yellow.
Just a thought, probably wrong, but when Jules said the man in yellow is omnipotent it occurred to me and many ppl have said that it’s all Ethan’s or Victor’s dream, nightmare . . . Which never vibed with me since there are so many perspectives however if the man in yellow is omnipotent then it could be his nightmare, coma . . .
Like the Tilly and Julie arc...🤔
Are we just speed passing Julie throwing the rope down to Boyd! If she doesn't do that he dies in the chimney right? So Julie can create change cause she clearly does but Jim just didn't listen.
I think they may time jump. You're right the young kids age out.
I think Jim is the man in yellow.
Third🎉🎉🎉🎉. But if you're not first your last.
Lost was my introduction to podcasts! I loved the show soooo much. But with all that build up and promises the last season was very disappointing for me :/. And now I can't rewatch...
Ethan is the man in yellow
Dr mabuse was adapted by lovecraft and chambers hastur the yellow king of carcosa this is more lovecraftian
But thomas was a baby when he died !
First!
I'm sold. Make a LOST video. WATCH IT JULES.
Sorry, but Lost was fuckin shite. Whole lot of dangling threads that lead to either no where or some basic vague resolution
