Hey Austin, I don’t know if someone else told you in the comments, but the markers are the half the length of the planter and they mark where half or you planter goes. You line the line up with the little arrow on the hood of the tractor and you try to plant as straight as possible.

They have control panels like that. Giants made one for FS17. It's just a logitech steering wheel with their own custom control panel.

As long as you flip the Ford over and read the directions you're good
The markers are for the next time when you come around you line the nose of the tractor up with the line on the ground and it plants right were you already planted
I’m from Woodstock Canada and my friend has a ridge marker on his corn planters
In canada the types of seeders there isn't many of those
I don’t about your Canada seeders but American Seeders never use that the best I know. I never seen them on seeders. I see them on corn planters all the time tho.

You guys should have went in incriments of 5 years for example, 1980, 1985, 1990, 1995, 2000, 2005, 2010, 2015, 2020, instead of just going 1980, 1990, 2000, 2010, 2020.
