I love the pigments. I wish David left brain artist do more experimental videos about the basic knowledge of pigments, choosing the right pigments and consistency test. We all have problems with consistency and use the pigments for different techniques. Just my advice. I promise, artists will buy more of your products. Every body like pigments but we don’t know how to use it in a right way. David is the only artist who can help us, so if you request him to do some videos only based on pigments, that would be awesome. Thanks, Leslie.
R.O.L. Yep. Perfect! Soon as the color went down I just smiled knowing just how beautiful they are in person. Well done. Loved it. I love your products. Lynda at GracebyArte in Utah. Very Happy you're able to do this.
What a CONCEPT Leslie. I love how your brain thinks! :) I am SO HAPPY we can buy this..I can't wait to buy my sets..It is 1am and what a time for me to find this video! lol I am so excited I will be up all night thinking of things I can make with these beautiful colors. Thank you so much for this video! I subscribed and THUMBS UP! can't wait to see more...
Thanks so much for expanding on these! I love my Primary Elements and am excited to try them with other mediums! BTW, I'm entering the contest for your kit and the online Sheele Art course! Good luck to all, but especially to me, lol!
Hi, Leslie, I absolutely LOVE your work. It's utterly stunning! I am a bit confused about one thing, and watched this video countless times, but am still unsure. Did you say that you can add Liquitex Gloss Gel to any acrylic paint and end up with colour shifting paint such as you get with using the Colour Arte pigments? Thanks a million for all you've done for we aspiring acrylic painters. :-)
So informative!! Thank you for spending the time to explain the difference. I really want to play with the ColourArte Pigments & Micas and haven't known where to start. Your video has really helped out a bunch! I appreciate it. :)
Thank you Leslie great info. Just wondering what the UV stability of your Primary Elements are compared to Artist Quality Acrylic Paint? Many Craft paint looks ok but fades pretty fast as well as the colour shift from wet to dry. Most Acrylics do dry darker except for the Interactive Atilier Acrylics I have been using since they were made. Also by adding your Powder Primary Elements pigments into any Acrylic paint can they be used to give a pearly sheen or is it best just to use ordinary Mica Pigments that do not have colour pigments added? I have many Mica powders that I have been using this way over the years. I think Lalumiere (SP?) Paints are Mica paint made with an Acrylic gel medium and it seems very pigment strong.
What do you mix them with for acrylic pouring? The interference mica I mean? I have some and I put a little in my flotrol and I really can't seee most of them even over black.... what am I missing?
Nichelle Bell I mix mine in Vivid Clear Enamel www.Colourate.com ---- at the time I made the video we were not offering it -love it in primary elements---- my additive of choice is GAC 800 OR liquitex PM and a few drops of water for consistency Floetrol diffuses light ( impedes light refraction) I don't use in any mica base paints or pure mica. The brilliance of interference mica is it refracts light -- 90-95% transparent - if you have a second color layered Beneath the interference colors --- you see color through color --- the light waves bounces off the base color. -- and refract back at your eye. Similar to how a crystal or diamond refracts light --- as I said above Floetrol blocks light waves thus diffusing light Our Primary Elements include quite a bit of interference color -- for best results and most intense color mix in any in clear /glossy media. GAC 800 is a wonderful pouring. Medium --not a bad price per quart if you purchase by the gallon it is $55 that breaks down to $13.75 A quart liquitext OM is 32.00 Before the shortage everyone sucked up the high price because it was universally accepted as a good product that "plays well " with almost any acrylic Late January 2017 the pouring community experienced a 4 month shortage of liquitex pouring--- People lost their minds ---😎 they were not going to stop pouring because Liquitex did not respond to the demand --- really 4 months ? Liquitext had checked out to lunch 😎 Sadly GAC 800 was not as mainstream -- it is a superior PM When the shortage was in its 3rd week ----- the enthusiast were really upset ---- so some smart Person said --- hey what about this stuff called Floetrol that house painters use So enter a new enthusiast that recently joined this new trend a couple months ago ---say July ???? They see floetrol on the getting stated material list and think they have to use it ...this art takes some research -_ a lot of peeps just don't have the time to go back and watch all the videos in the past 6 months to get knowledge how it unfolded Floetrol was invented to extend house paint not artist paint Floetrol has a drying retardant that increases working time Floetrol contains a very strong surfactant ( spreads the paint ) ONE BAD side effect it loosens up the acrylic polymer "surface tension "- why is this important? You need the surface tension in the colors in a dirty pour to hold onto the beautiful cells we create----- If used alone ( no other additive or extender) my estimate is 75-100% cell loss Mixed in a custom combo mix --- 25% each Elmer's glue -Liquitex PM- water ( ph balanced with baking soda) and Floetrol The glue and PM will stabilize the Floetrol ---- a possible 25% Cell loss What is the most common thing people say after they post a picture of their fresh pour??? " I hope it dries like this / I hope the cells stay In defense of Floetrol It does do something interesting to paint as far as creating patterns ----( makes the paint act squirrelly ) not cells but patterns --- I plan on testing in a spray bottle -- and spritz in my pour as you would alcohol Just as an FYI: Iron oxide micas " gold " for example. reflect light sits on a surface like a mirror ---/ because they are not dependent on light refraction --- they are not as affected by Floetrol Hope this helps Happy pouring ❤️❤️❤️

Can you use primary elements in an airbrush if thin enough?
Be sure to use a nozzle that accepts mica , the ground color will flow add a bit of glue extender to it
