Sometimes I find shopping in the International aisles for certain products is cheaper then in the regular aisle.
Or in Hispanic/Asian grocery stores. Great deals on meat, and spices in particular
1970's we didn't have bottled water, I remember when they first started selling it late 80's I thought it was crazy that anyone would pay money for water in a bottle and yet here we are today I bought in to it for years till I bought a Brita water pitcher. Anna In Ohio
and most often they fill those bottles from the town/city water supply
We have good well water 💧👵🏻👩🌾❣️
Reverse osmosis water is best. Has great taste
Reverse osmosis water can be very lacking in essential minerals.
My mother had a very tight budget shopping to feed seven in the 1970s. She would spend so much time finding low cost items in the store.
I am so blessed to be able to purchase organic foods!
My grandma raised her own, gardened her own, made her own from scratch or bartered with neighbor farmers. No additives, preservatives, MRNA, vaccines, nanoparticles, plastics, pesticides or precarious unknowns in her food EVER. She also knew whose hands have touched her food.
My Grandma taught all to shop this way. Still shop this way.
I make a 5 egg omelet and stir fry one lb of chopped meat.
Eat that before I go shopping. Never get hungry until 6 hrs later. No cravings ever.
Make your own frozen dinners.
I do 👍👵🏻👩🌾❣️
Cook once, eat twice.
Lowest prices usually on the lowest shelves
I still shop like this and taught my daughter the same. It helps.
My grandmother never went shopping for vegetables, she had a garden. If my grandmother wanted eggs she sent me to the chicken coop. If we were going to have chicken she sent me to the chicken yard to pick out the one I wanted (but then I had to chop its head off, bleed it, pluck it, dip it, shave off the pin-feathers and let it rest so she could cut it up). As for fresh dairy, well, you milked the house cow every morning and afternoon. At grandmother's house you saved three days worth of separated cream (from the fresh milk) and used a "daisy churn" to make butter. For a seven-year-old city kid in 1965 that was considered fun!
Also check the unit price, displayed in either yellow or orange, on the shelf price tag. This helps me figure out which item is cheapest when most items are very similar.
Ask the cashier for some extra S&H Green Stamps 🤭
😂😂 I remember those 👍👵🏻👩🌾❣️
I wish those were still around. Also, do you remember being able to very cheaply get dish sets, a different piece each week at the grocery store?
When milk is on sale, and you have freezer room buy more. Use the frozen milk in 4 to 6 weeks. Also I mix whole milk with powdered milk to stretch the budget. When made you will have 2% milk and 1 gallon turns into 2. If time is not on your side, keep a half gallon of water in the frig. I do this when I need to make quicklet. I just bought milk yesterday for 3.69 a gallon, by mixing whole with powered the cost is 1.88 a gallon.
Great tip! Thanks for this.
Why buy cows milk when I prefer Plant-based, and have a machine to make it with, so long as I have almonds oats on hand? A lot cheaper and healthier, kinder to animals and the environment.
@@sjordan7085 you do you..
Mixing powdered milk with whole milk is a great trick, and it’s a trick that was used in the 1970s to help stretch a budget.
@@sjordan7085It’s only cheaper if you make plant-based milk yourself. Commercially ready plant-based milk is often more expensive than cow milk.
The woman at 4:38 bruising her greens.😂
Milk can be frozen too. I used to do it when I lived in Ontario. You could buy milk in plastic pouches...
Frozen veg and fruit is cheaper than raw, and less waste.
usually fresher too
And a great time saver
Check for (even ask) when discount products are put out in each department. Often this is some time in the morning after department heads have gone through thier cases or shelves. Often markdowns are done primarily on specific days of the week and time of the day.
In my family starting with my great grandparents, my grandparents, my parents and then me. We all would grow some of our own food if possible. Even the smallest amount of food you can grow saves a bit of money in the long run. Even if you can only do smaller plants like herbs near a window.
I use salsa in chili, Spanish rice, etc.Has all the veggies plus you can choose how hot and spicy you like
This is excellent!
Thanks Tracy!
I never wore an apron to shop. I wore jeans and tee shirts. And makeup! Sheesh! The tips are pretty good, though.
I also save money by shopping the aisles example if I need eggs I go to the aisle they are located in and Advils going down unnecessary aisles

I don't want to buy anything grandma's we're smelling. I don't want to buy the contents of their noses. In a a store where I was shopping. I saw a grandma pick her nose then picked up bananas with the same finger she picked her nose. So, grandma's remember hygiene when shopping.
These videos are redundant. For example the price checking/tracking was mentioned FOUR times with different pictures. Desperate for content?
Bottled water tastes weird.
😂😂😂😂
Why do all these videos say "Expiry" date there is no such word in the English language it's Expiration date. Anna In Ohio
Some places say that and sometimes they use best before. 🇦🇺
Sure there is , not everyone speaks American.....expiration" is the preferred word in American legal English while "expiry" is the preferred word in British legal English.
@@buckeyedav1 Here in Australia medications have expiry date written on them. Food has best before
@@juliefall2892food here also has 'use by' or 'use within 3 days of opening' for example.
I look for specials meal prrp
