Hi Alice Rita welcome to my life this is the first show I seen I love plantains from New York born and raised eating them the way we were raised eating them which is when it’s its ripen just as they ripen when the sweetest they are beautiful but I like your encouragement of starting your own businessespecially when you have people around you that like to eat healthy snack again and thank you
Hi and thank you for this real time vid. Could one get the same crispy results from using plantains with black streaks - in which the sugars have developed - or is it best to stick with plantains that have just turned yellow, which won't be as sweet, but may crisp up better?
@@AliceritaE Thank you - very useful information. I've tried to recreate the 'chips' that can be found, by using a dehydrator and also by frying - the plantains have been too ripe to crisp up.
This is great, the wife & kids love plantain chips, this would be so much more fun to make them with them, they are a little expensive here, so this will be a money saver!
Hi Rose, It's not sea water. You have to mix salt with water or boil some sugar in water. then you will use the water to gently sprinkle the plantain slices before them frying. (don't add too much water, so that the hot oil don't splash on you)
What we did was to make sure that you slice, the plantain before frying the next batch. Its easy to separate the slices if you cut them slightly thick, but botntoo thick. We cut the plantains, transfer them tona bowl and separate them immediately and the mix to fry in the oil. We DON'T cut all and then fry. That will make the unripe plantain to have dark colour.
Wow very nice. Thanks for sharing. I will try my hands on this, even make a business. Lovely.
I am glad you like the video

If the plantains are ripe, they won't be crispy because they'll soak up the moisture in the air and get soft.

Great video. How long can they last in air tight bag.
Two to three weeks, f you seal them in smaller batches, that keeps them fresher for a longer period

Hi, did you use unripe plantain? Also, if the oil is too hot, or of you add too much plantain to the oil, the plantain chips will not fry probably.
Thanks. Very much❤❤❤
