new life?? They flipped an unknown song into arguably the song of the decade. Apparently these guys have been quite happy at the result. This has proven yet again there's a staggering number of great artists who just never get that lucky break.
When I heard it I was so surprised cause I've never liked Poly Samson's lyrics apart from High Hopes, and I kept listening to it on repeat feeling guilty... then I noticed that it's a cover.
Listened to all their work to date on the way back home on a jet last night...I was very pleasantly surprised. These guys are brilliant. Ive been a huge D Gilmoir fan and yea this track Romany had performed , got me here. Awesome. Thanks Romany.
So vulnerable and poignant. Just heartbreaking he has gone. A beautiful record of his performance and still memorable I'm sure for those in the audience.
So sad I didn't realise what had happened until I just saw you note. Its amazing how talented these guys were and proof that some times great art never gets appreciated at first. At least the Gilmour version has given it a new life and got these guys the appreciation they deserve.
They have released a new better sound version; th-cam.com/video/E_RJoRStQsM/w-d-xo.html. If you haven't heard it yet check out David Gilmour - Between Two Points (with Romany Gilmour); th-cam.com/video/A9qdvkx9E3o/w-d-xo.html Great Gilmour guitar solo at the end!
Roger Quigley of this pairing and "At Swim Two Birds". Passed in 2020, "unexpectedly". Slowcore/sadcore should always be beautiful, like this. Honor to any who saw him live, as he most certainly was.
Brilliant song. Great to see this original live version. Sadly the singer Roger Quigley died in 2020 as I’m sure he’d have been thrilled to see this new avenue open up for people to discover their music
Who all is here because of Gilmore? 😂
Io...👍
Me
I left pretty quickly too…😂
Yo😮
Guilty
Romany and Dave gave this song a new life

David and Romany brought me here 🎸🎤🔥
Anche a me 👍
EU TAMBÉM...
Me as well ❤
Thanks to David and Romany for making me discover this beautiful melody... both interpretations are distant but also very close.
David and Romany's version is my "summer song".I absolutely adore it!
Idem 👍
Absolument !!

A masterpiece… Reminds me of Mark Hollis i believe in you… and thanks Mister Gilmour
Yes! It’s got a definite Talk Talk vibe.
Well, these guys are going to get some unexpected views!
Più che meritate👍
And some big royalty checks.
go read the note on Roger Quigley's Wikipedia page
I could listen to a song through a tin can all day, if it in fact moves my soul like this song and lyrics does! Its great!
J'adore les deux versions !
Sans restriction...

absolutely stunning song....lyrics....amazing...i get goose-pimples..and i don't understand why?
Because it’s honest, true & beautiful like all the best art.
Because Gilmore brought you here😂
Rest in peace.
Much love.

Masterpiece.
I'd love a direct recording of this performance. It's haunting, just this recording is so tinny

@@JPnTX that's the studio version, I want one from this exact performance.
Bellissimo......
Didn't care for it at first, but it grew on me. Beautiful song.
The sound is not very good. It's a shame because this song is wonderful. I love it.
Thank you to share. It's a good play...

Sad that he never got to experience David’s interpretation and the recognition it gives 😢

Great song, Gilmore knows!
I miss the Montgolfier Brothers...
😢
Time to take out the original cd
The Montgolfier Brothers' are named after famous hot air balloonist pioneers. This song should be done with a video of hot air balloons.
Artisti che se non era pet Gilmour non avrei mai conosciuto, purtroppo lui è morto❤
Does anyone know who wrote this brilliant track?
Music by Mark Tranmer (left guitarist), lyrics and melody by Roger Quigley (singer)
@@dasbestebrot1101 thank you
Tanta gente de talento que mueren en las sombras
I prefer this original
Lovely song 💚❤️
I fratelli Montgolfier
Omgoodness Romany’s cover is far superior..imo🫶🎶🎶💎
Now they're going to get rich with royalties because of the Gilmours
Uno muerto😢
Do you have any evidence for that?

Must be mad for them this all evolving years later. Lovely song and credit to them but i think Romany has the edge on the vocals.
Ma percarità, come guastare un brano
Las primeiras gravações de Floyd eram horríveis
horrible.
