Having a teenager in today's world, I can tell you that his musical experience is nothing like mine from the late 70s into the 80s. Of course, I'm biased. I think my musical experience was better. But time moves on and he will probably feel the same way when his kids start to listen to music. But going through stacks of albums and meeting fellow rock fans at school and learning about new bands at a time when they weren't just seconds away on the Internet, was a great experience. It made you appreciate it more than you can today. You really had to search for it. You had to think hard about which album to buy, to take a chance on, with the few dollars you had in your pocket. Today, I can go on TH-cam and hear anything in seconds. Sounds great. But today's youth will never relate to Saxon's Denim & Leather song.
If you watch any descent live videos of LA GUNS playing, one constant comment is that Phil Lewis still sounds as he originally did. His voice is amazing
