  • Hello everyone, and welcome back to another video. Today, we will be driving from San Jose, CA to Fairfield, CA, while traveling along all of Interstate 680 north in the San Francisco Bay Area! Interstate 680 is a major north-south freeway in the eastern half of the Bay Area that runs through the California coastal range hills, along with many major inland cities, by bypassing cities along the eastern shore such as Oakland or San Francisco. Construction of I-680 finished in September of 1955, and the entire span of the route is about 70 miles. In this video, we are starting at the beginning of I-680, where US-101, I-680, and I-280 meet together, which is known as the Joe Colla Interchange. We travel on the route until the freeway's very end, where I-680 diverts into I-80 east or west in the city limits of Fairfield. While on the way to Pleasanton, CA, we also cross the Mission Pass, which is a mountain pass that reaches about 659 feet above sea level. So, I hope you enjoyed this 4k scenic drive on another major Bay Area freeway, and please like and subscribe to AKTheTraveler for more awesome road trips!
