Hallo guten Morgen. Ein sehr bekanntes Lied, es wurde auch von einigen Künstlern ( z.b. Heino ) gerne gesungen und auf Tonträger gebracht. Erstmalig soll es im Liederbuch des " Jungdeutschen Ordens " 1921 veröffentlicht worden sein. Ich wünsche allen einen schönen und sonnigen Sommertag. 🍀☀️

"Child" does not mean the same as in English here, it was like a nickname for an innocent young girl.
It's a bit like how in some dialects of english a woman might be called "Baby" or "Babes" as a sort of petname.
Plus, it has to rhyme with, _find'._ Mädchen or Frau wouldn't work. 😉😄

@@dr.ludwig there are other traditional dresses in Germany besides the Dirndl. 😉 I have to admit, though, that the regional traditional dress of my home are is... most unbecoming. Looks like one doesn't have a neck at all; as of the head sits right on the shoulders. 😝 But the _men_ look sharp as anything in their getups! 😄 (to look up: Schaumburger Tracht, you'll see what I mean...)
