    From 02:06 onwards, it is an absolute joy to watch the three kids, and the mother is the cherry on top. What a wonderful scene!

    That woman had the most genuine reaction I've ever seen on this show. You can tell she needed that.

    Nice to see someone who wasn’t clearly wealthy anyway, there with her kids. Get some good luck, you can see she was about to cry

    "I keep it in the wine cellar". Obviously not poor, then! Poor people don't have wine cellars. 😂😂😂

      Ha ha, this is actually from denmark. So it makes sense to me that normal people have wine cellars here. It became an in thing to do in the 70's. So you saw them often back then..

      @@ebbhead20 where I live no one even has a cellar. 😂 they're lucky to have a back garden. 3 cheers for the North West of England haha

      @@Canthatcrazy well here they do without being rich. England and denmark is very diffrent countries. I should know im born up north and have lived there on several occasions. 3 years as a kid and 6 as a adult in the 90's.

    At one time it was a regular thing for Antiques Road Show to visit Scandinavia . They dont do it now.

    • @ebbhead20
      @ebbhead20 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I know, and one of their hosts was even danish i found out. England has so many danes and swedes living and working there that no Scandinavian has ever heard about.. Always throw me that Sandi Toksvig and Lars Tharp can be so brittish with beautiful perfect English and then turn danish just like that.. Sandi becomes such a Cph girl when she wants to be.. 😎

      I believe they stopped visiting Scandinavia when the swedish national broadcaster bought the rights to create their own version

    Price reveals on the BBC version of Antiques Roadshow are always so anticlimax. Or maybe the producers choose lack luster items of low value because that’s all people have brought in.

  • @eldante4139
    @eldante4139 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Unless I’m mistaken she spent equivalent to £300 buying those two figurines in whatever year in the 20th century. That seems like a lot of money even if the markup was significant. I wouldn’t spend £300 on similar figures today. And she seemingly didn’t know all that much about them. So seems like an expensive punt. I’m likely wrong but I can imagine that maybe Antiques Roadshow uses actors for certain items which are presented from in-house for entertainment or why did she pay a reasonable amount for two pieces like that otherwise? Maybe I’m just overly cynical and I really hope for her sake historically that this is 100% genuine and she made well out of all of this for herself and her family.

      We have a local auction every week in Victoria, BC and all kinds of stuff comes in pretty much across the board, from an old Rhino horn on a base (obviously from before it being illegal, to ivory, Brit. tea pots, to junk. The prices compared to Vancouver , BC are just sky high: too too many people my age with overpaid govt. jobs and lots of cash. !!!
