Linear Transformations , Example 1, Part 2 of 2. In this video, I introduce the idea of a linear transformation of vectors from one space to another. I then proceed to finish an example of whether or not a particular transformation is linear or not.
Why are books so complicated and youtube videos so simple and clear? Thanks!
Cuz Books are written by authors who write them in a very very formal advanced manner
Books' main objective is not to teach necessarily, but to elaborate and document a certain set of findings so that they can be replicated by future generations. They also constitute an important form of references, again for future people. TH-cam videos however, aim at helping us do well on our exams haha
In 2018, these videos are still easier to understand than any college professor.

in case 2, he previously wrote T(c v)=c T (v) but used u which is 1st vector instead of v which is second , Can we use any of the two vectors in orders to check if 2nd condition satisfies?

Is there a theorem that allows us to identify a property of the transformation to find out if a transformation is not linear? Or do you have to grind through the process each time?
Ruttna Samhället quite some time ago but still: No, not really. But with experinece you can get a really good hunch on wether it's linear or not.
