      And I guess it paid off, because five years later, he would win a national championship with Notre Dame

    Thank you for these defensive highlights they are extremely helpful in studying the position

    Chris fake is such a solid defender, he just lacks in speed, if he gets faster, he’ll be even more unstoppable than he already is

    • @LacrosseAnalytics
      @LacrosseAnalytics  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I’d have to agree, his straight line speed isn’t the greatest. But other than that, his defense and overall ability is flawless

    Chris fake and Feilds matchup reminds me of the Matt Landis and Lyle Thompson matchup.

    • @LacrosseAnalytics
      @LacrosseAnalytics  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a great comparison. Can't wait for Fake to get into professional lacrosse and take on Lyle

    • @LacrosseAnalytics
      @LacrosseAnalytics  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeh true. If you watched Fields play against Nick Mellon in the beginning of the season, he was much quicker. Unfortunate he wasn’t 100% against Fake

    Finally! A video about defensive skill. Almost every video highlight on the Internet is, shoot - score shoot - score shoot - score shoot - score. Which leaves 75% of the game without highlights. Kind of pathetic. There are some excellent skills in the Midfield and the defense and the goalies. Yes, there are actually other people on the team other than attackman.

      Honestly, it’s tough to argue that he wasn’t the best defender last year. No doubt the guys on the All-American list are all beast but Chris Fake just plays with another level of tenacity and athleticism

    first saw him against Bucknell in their overtime loss and I don't think Will Sands one of the best attack man in the country beat him once

    • @LacrosseAnalytics
      @LacrosseAnalytics  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fake was way too athletic for Sands, he had him on lock the whole game

    • @liamohara5863
      @liamohara5863 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      who do you think gave him the most trouble dodging behind. because Teat had points but he's really slippery from the high wing so you know he's gonna have assists in bunches

    • @LacrosseAnalytics
      @LacrosseAnalytics  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think Teat and Spencer gave him the most problems, but he more than held his own. Cornell used a lot of picks to get Teat open and Pat Spencer was able to shake Chris Fake a few times but overall, he won both of those match ups.

    It’s a sad state of affairs in the sport of lacrosse when the defensive highlights are of a position defender who barely throws checks.
    In the good old days, take away d-men would throw nasty checks, put the ball on the ground and get the transition game rolling.

    • @cz418cz7
      @cz418cz7 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oaks Armorial if you miss your whole defense could collapse, so while it’s not as exciting, it’s much safer.

      thats called bad defense, if you constantly go for takeaway checks maybe you get a few highlights but you also get burned when they don't work
