  • Join me on a canal boat on the Brecon and Monmouthshire canal, picking up the boat at Llangattock and set sail for Brecon on the first part of my journey. Take a tour through the boat and marvel at the luxurious interior. Travel along the canal towards the Brecon Beacons and enjoy the experience of taking a canal boat over the Brynich aqueduct and through Brynich lock.
Part two of the canal boat trip can be seen here • Brecon and Monmouthshi...

@@stevestopdaysout837 If I may ask , what was the overall length of the boat?
I am planning a holiday with Cambrian cruisers but have never been on a narrow boat let alone steered one, so was looking at a 47ft for my first time.

@@anthonybryan9620 "Grouse is 60 ft long and 8 ft 6 in beam. She was specifically built to the maximum size that could be accommodated in a lock on that canal. Needless to say, the longer the boat the, the longer the delay in the response seen at the bow from tiller movement, requiring you to anticipate the turn before you reach it. You'll soon get the hang of it with a 47 ft boat. Have a great time. It will be one of the most peaceful, tranquil holidays you've ever had.

@stevestopdaysout837 Wow! Your boat is so beautiful! Can I ask how much it cost to custom build? I'm thinking about buying a narrow boat in the future and living on that same canal.
