Thanks for your pleasant presentation, Ralph. The UB-XA is quite deep - even mysterious in some programming aspects. Maybe a video to explain globals and atrophy adjustability in laymen terms(if possible)? I know I'm not the only one semi- intimidated by this aspect of the UB-XA. Thanks!🎛🎹😎🎶
Yes globals are an important topic as it pertains to the UB-Xa in general. But for my personal workflow I stopped dabbling with the atrophy settings. I just go with either the UB-Xa or OB-8 profile and focus on the specific sound patch. Cheers, Ralph
Thanks for the feedback Bruce. I thought that not everyone was aware of this because reading through the manual is not necessarily the most joyful part of a new Synth 😉
Great video 👍. I think one issue is many users are too young to remember when synths such as the DX7 had separate "performance" memory from the patch memories. I was hugely disappointed that the Korg Volca FM didn't include the performance memory thereby rendering it unsuitable for breath control.
Yes, that might be a reason pertaining to some younger folks. I guess Korg wanted to stay within a specific price range to attract a wider audience and client base. Just my two cents ;-) thanks for watching my video. Cheers, Ralph
@@RalphBaumgartl it's just my unreasonable expectations - since getting my Roland AE-30 I judge everything by its ability to be controlled by a wind synth! 😀
@@RalphBaumgartl I am not surprised to hear that - it's fabulous (despite the difficulty of programming ZEN-Core 😱). It's so expressive - especially when the motion controls and thumb pad are set up to change the sound just as easily as waggling the controls on a monosynth! 😎
Hey Ralph! That's useful to know. However, I think a lot of people are misinterpreting the point of the performance section of this, or any synth. It has never really been part of the sound generation engine, and is a very fleeting and transitory tool. The earliest synths didn't have them. They are there so that when you play, if you get caught up in the moment, theres something you can grab hold of and mess with without messing up your carefully crafted patch or, indeed, tuning! What I think people are clamouring for is more LFOs in the synth engine, and using the one from the performance section in a way it was never intended by the designer. Maybe Behringer could do some clever stoff in the firmware to emulate additional LFOs? I guess that depends on how analogue the synth is, but it wouldn't be a clone of the original then and certain people would moan. I'd say leave it as is. It's a fantastic synth and you've given people a functional workaround! As always, another video with very useful content. Thanks Ralph! Cheers ✌️
Hello David, thanks for sharing your thoughts about the performance section. Some good points there. Sometimes I have the impression that people are trying hard to find some faults with the UB-Xa. I remember one comment somewhere which stated that the inability of saving the Performance LFO into a patch is a deal breaker. My intention with this video is to put things a little bit into the right perspective ;-) Thanks for watching, Ralph
I just have it set as a dedicated vibrato and like to ride the depth knob to bring the effect in . I prefer this so far over the paddle mod wheel. that way I dont have to worry about it but just have to turn it off for next patch if needed. I would like lfo delay too.

loving the UBXA videos. It's the greatest synth I've ever owned, and I've had many.
Glad you're digging the UBXA videos! It's awesome to hear that it's your favorite synth so far. Greetings, Ralph

Thank you very much 🙏 Grüße zurück aus dem Rhein-Main Gebiet!
Thank you for this helpful hack, Ralph!
I'm glad you found the "hack" helpful! Thanks for watching!
Thanks Ralph this is good news . I think we will all be very please with the next firmware update but we temporarily use this work a round.

Detailed. Well laid out. Excellent!!!
Thank you.

You are right about the LFO delay. I am missing it too, especially because I am using it constantly on the OB-1 and the 2600. Cheers, Ralph
Grazie mille! Useful as usual!
Thank you 🙏 I am glad you find it useful.
Hallo Ralph, ich bin überrascht, dee Sound ist echt gut
Ja 👍 ist ein cooler Synthesizer
Nice. They should include it in the patch. Although I can't remember if my Jupiter 6 does it though. Can't find anyone to be able to repair it sadly.
Unfortunately that's one of the biggest disadvantages of classic Synths. Repairing/maintaining them is costly and quite often a hassle....
Il sonne bien 😎
Bien merci! Merci beaucoup d'avoir regardé et commenté !
Echt super per4mance
Thank you so much for your kind words!
Great video! New subscriber.
Thank you 🙏 I appreciate your support!
nice I do wish there were more layer slots 32 is not enough
I suppose you mean Split and Double programs (presets)
yes I think this split and layers are the power of this synth 16 voices
It's a lot of faff. In this day and age, you'd expect a synth to save ALL parameters with the patch. It's still an amazing synth though.
Well said 👍 Thanks for watching and commenting 🙏
