Is there no certification where you live. These are the basics. More important is stand your ground, the customer doesn't know and will not take responsibility after failure. YOU are the proffesional.
@esluijsmans yes there is most definitely certification for crane operators in Australia. As a crane and rigging trainer and assessor all my videos are aimed at reinforcing the basics of cranes and rigging safety to students who are just learning
I have been always told in the thousand or so Safety Inductions I have sat through, "If you are told to do something and you know in your gut something may go wrong, "Don't do it!" just refuse and walk away, better to stay alive/ safe- than to agree. If you fail, and an accident happens, you personally will wear the liability. There is no shame in refusing to do an unsafe job.
