NOOO
Do you run the chris hellbeck channel? Voice sounds the same.
Hi Alex
What your mpg on your truck?
@Josue diaz he said on previous video that his new truck does about 10mpg and his old one did about 8
Hi
You should have not edited out the part you were backing into the dock just so for those drivers who’s just starting off can get a better understanding on backing a semi with trailer 🤙🏽
Please how do I contact him, my income stream is in a mess...... please🥺
He probably F up backing up lmao and didn’t want to show us lol
All these fake scam accounts replying to each other is hilarious😂😂😂
@@madmulla125 🤣😂
Bots targeted the shit out of your comment 💀
I'm going to nominate this channel as "Best Trucking Channel". No Grizzled Veteran bloviating about all the stuff he's seen. Just a nice young man trying to make a living and sharing his adventure. Bravo Alex! ❤
I'm 55 and decided to go get my license. I was on the road with my then-boyfriend in my thirties, so I know the trucking world. I was lucky enough to get my learner's permit and drove our semi-trailer (B-train) to most states even if I'm from Canada. It was the best time, but it was the worst too! Met some incredible truck drivers. So, I decided that it was now or never! I'll start next spring. Never too old to try something new. :) Great videos.
Well... Be my girlfriend and lets ride!!! 😂
12:47 here’s a tip! If you want the truck to stay on, set the trailer brakes and push in the yellow button, the trailer will not let the truck go forward and your truck thinks you are gonna drive. The automatic shutdown will not work that way.
Depends on the truck. Some trucks the timer is tied to activity in the gas pedal. The real solution is not to drive a truck newer than 2007
Actually the real solution is to turn on the cruise control when you’re in park and hit resume. Truck will idle up to 600-800 rpm and it won’t shut off. You should always idle your rig up anyways. It’s bad for the motor to idle at a low rpm. Hence why it shuts down.
@@Tjmicco some trucks still shit down like that. I used to drive an International that did that. Even if you idle it.
@@18wheeler77 really? i stand corrected then. how would you idle it overnight? that would get on my nerves big time
@@Tjmicco trucks were equipped with APUs.
Really enjoyed the video, young man. Nice KW you're piloting there - and love the rumble of that engine (Detroit, Cummins, CAT???). Be careful out there and thanks to you and all those other drivers for keeping us in everyday essentials for our lives/homes. Blessings!
You made that so hard on yourself dude. You had a HUGE open space between that Dually and Semi. Swing your tractor into those open spaces and swing back out to leave enough room for the back of the trailer to clear that Dually, then basically set yourself up for a SLIGHT angle straight back. You’re not new to trucking, but I think you’re still new to backing.
If you use cruise control to raise idle while parked. It shouldn't try to turn off on you
I'll have to try that. Thanks
It’s between 32-65 degrees I think the truck doesn’t idle. I was going to say the same thing rev her up!
Hold the engine override button it will keep it running all night
Never lose that focus you have on safety.
If I was in my 20's I wouldn't mind being a driver, but I'm 53 now and will be retiring next year. So retirement sounds better than driving now 😁
If you're still having the problem with the brake and your engine, you should get a rock/brick/something heavy to keep the pedal pushed.
If any of you big leaguers are thinking of getting into trucking, plan on changing your entire life to accommodate the job. You can either be home or make money but rarely both, and if you can’t sit and knock out 400-600 miles daily than don’t bother. It takes its toll. Good luck. 🍀
Alex, love the vids. I admire your backing skills, because I have to practice when I go back to Western. You make it look too easy.
I love how out of everything you could've missed, you missed the gosh tongs. Kinda ironic since they're basically the same color scheme as the inside of normal trucks.
Every time he shouts at his garmin mine activates 😂
I love your vids and content! Keep up the great work!! Love the channel!!
Careful using the same utensil while cooking raw chicken. Should use one pair of tongs for raw and another for cooked. Wanna avoid cross contamination. Just looking out. Love the videos.
Lol did you cdc tell you that?
I wouldn't want to drive one of those rigs, but I think it would be fun riding along with you, while seeing more of the country. I enjoy your commentary and almost feel like I'm there.
Drove a truck long time.... I'm retired now.. If u want a sence of adventure... You could drag mobile homes.. It would sure break u in to backin' them in... U do have spotters... And front and rear escorts... It's an adventure.. If u do take down and set up the money is real good! Keep on kid... You will get there !
17:00 we eat it in Mexico too. But normally it’s made for Cuaresma season. We eat it with Lentejas and tortas de camarón and or Nopalitos! Yum!!! Oh and we call them, tortas te papa.
Set your cruise control, then idle the engine rpms up...
Does the bunk have a control for optimized idle in it?
Our Cascadias do...since you're in a KW it may be a different set up.
Anyway, if it does toggle the temp and set it.. once thats done it should idle.
I prefer it over APUs
Been at it 12 years now, no slowing down .
Did you know in Europe semi's are limited to 55mph, are smaller, the on ramps are way smaller, 10x more traffic and the highway is almost never straight... can you imagine 😉
thats why i wish i can become a truck driver and go to usa. here there isnt even a good road police system
the on ramps are NOT way smaller in most of Europe. You should see the on ramps in Connecticut, Massachussetts, New Jersey, most of Virginia. They are often barely 2 truck lengths. In the Netherlands they are way longer and Germany too.
I'm working on getting my CDL. I'm at an academy now and should be getting the license in a couple of weeks
Did you get it?
@Dominican Frankster Yes I did!
@@tollbootheddie 💪 nice. Wish me luck
@Dominican Frankster good luck man! Just study, study, study the pre-trip. The maneuvers and driving will get easier the more you do it.
The cruise control high idle keeps my Peterbilt from idle shutdown if you idle like 1100 rpm
This is low key a cooking channel. A cook that part-time hauls a trailer around.
I think you're doing a great job bud keep it up!!!
Sucks Variant doesn’t take recent CDL grads. Just got my Class A with tanker endorsement and learned on a 10 speed manual.
Having luck finding work?
when you cook in your truck...doesn't smell up the truck? How do you deal with the clean up afterwards..
If the APU is running it should keep the batteries full. to ove ride the idle shutdown use you high idle
Have you ever considered hauling a motorcycle so you can duck out to a venue and eat good food sometimes? Don’t live off truck food
Seems to me he eats pretty healthily.
yeah i would be a trucker your a huge insparation to me
I also want to do trucking+youtube
your such a massive insparation
@Ray Gamble hahaha such a trick it litteraly doesnt say your alex lol
Thanks for keeping things moving in America. No more than ever we need truckers.
can u run ur truck on a high iddle ? Turn ur cruise control to the on position and hold ur set just to pick it up to a certain rpm 🤷🏽♂️ might work
I know that rest area on I 26! I’m a UPS driver that travels from Charlotte North Carolina to Charleston South Carolina and back four days a week
Hey bro you can keep your truck running all night hold down the engine override button for 3 seconds
The fact that i love cars n not around people all day. This is the biggest industry i have in mind one day i hope to own a fleet.
I bought a Bluetti ac200 max for my truck. I can run anything I want for 2 days ish before I have to recharge it. It’ll recharge in a few hours plugged into the truck while driving.
Hey Alex love your videos was getting worried when you weren’t putting any videos I see wants out there in the world thru you and your trucking I’ve never been anywhere but glad to see you’re videos I even rewatch all you’re videos again when you don’t put new one 😂
Would I be a driver? Yes, because I have passion to drive, because I believe in seervice to the people. I just need the opportunity to show my passion while serving the people. Please reach out to me if you know how I can get a job to the USA as a German resident
I was a truck driver for 4 years. Pulled flatbed, stepdeck an lowboys. I loved it. But my family comes first. But good luck out there an stay safe driver.
What do you mean? Do you not truck anymore? I just got my CDL but have a baby coming up
@@diablodelatorre you can truck local that’s what I do I’m going into mixer driver here I’m Denver a lot of hours but get to come home to my family every night
Question: if your moving from state to state often for work, how long can you rest the day off per month and how do you pay a permanent place like a apartment when your in a other state and not given enough time to travel there? Do you rest the days in a hotel?
This is for the company "variant"
It cracks me up seeing u struggle to keep your truck on lol
This guy looks like a truck driver who wears his safety vest while driving.
Love these videos, keep it up!!
When you’re just idling set the cruise control up a little in the truck won’t want to shut off
I'm NEVER lost!!! Just temporarily unsure of my position
use cruise control to put it on high idle when u cooking, then it wont cut out or leave it in gear👍👍
I'm from Jacksonville and I use to work at that suddath warehouse
Thank you brother for another great video! I really enjoyed watching it ! Stay safe Brother!!
What did you used to do before driving trucks?
This Chanel should be called everybody loves Raymond drives a truck
I would probably starve and be stressed out of my mine trucking. I am already stressed enough driving a regular car.
Do you like being over the road or do you want to try looking for something local in the future where you are home everyday. I'm local and my company pays more than the average trucking company.
Yeah. Turn on your cruise and press set. And it should idle up. Sure it might burn alittle bit more fuel. But it’s not your money and you stay comfortable. 🤷♂️🤷♂️ especially in the winter when it cold. If your company dosent want you burning the fuel they need to buy you guys apu’s.
Heck no I would never be a truck driver, but. I do enjoy your videos and lay in bed after work watching your videos thinking I'm glad I'm not doing this lol. putting a bed and a tv and game console and it being all snug seems cool though :)
Did you have to train on a manual transmission, even though you drive an automatic?
Alex - need a video on how and why did you start as a truck driver
if you haven't already check out the 3 vids of Alex with his buddy, the last video in particular is almost an interview.
You look like it's your first day backing up
That guy was a BOOH!
I wouldn’t mind driving a big rig but doing in the snow sounds like a nightmare
You can leave the trailer brakes on and release the tractor brakes and it won’t shut off
Yeah I’m going to start trucking school on the 21 of this month 😅I’m 23 so it makes me comfortable knowing there’s truckers around my age too
I sure wish I could back one of those big rigs
You ain't told no lie. Every video I've watched. Your docks have always been the easiest.
For sure as long as they have me on the road and not home. Stay out as long as I could.
I've seen a few of your videos but I don't understand the why of what you're doing with the rear wheels. Are you moving them forward or backwards and for what reason?
See if you can turn the cruise control on while your cooking and give it a little gas and try to set the cruise so itll be idled up a little. Might keep it from trying to shut the motor off
Good video Alex. Drive safely my friend. God bless you 🙏.
I want to be a trucker but I don't know how much they earn per week/month. May you tell me how much?
As a brand new trucker i was on track for 45-50k but then when i had a couple months experiencei switched to a better paying company. Now it's I'd say 55k. It really depends on the company you drive for
Not enough that’s how much. Getting mileage pay 👎 but local home everyday is where it’s at getting hourly pay
Can you put cruise control on and put the rpms up a little so your truck won't shut off on you like that ?
See that's the problem with computers running everything it's more of a hindrance . My Dad drove truck all his life no computer when I was a kid .
As long as you're with the truck and only do this while you're with the truck your truck in idle and not automatically turn off activate your trailer brake and deactivate your truck brake that way you'll stay in place but the truck won't shut down but once again do not do this if you are planning on leaving your truck for any reason we're going to be for a minute do not do it tire shops even better but still don't leave the truck on attendant
This is the same information that I found Alex. Give it try and good luck.
Also, get some tongs with BLOODY SILICONE ENDS!!! If you scratch up that perfectly good indoor grill, I will be disappointed.
Watching you back up to bay33 gave me anxiety lol. I don't know how you guys do it!
I wouldn’t be a truck driver. The ratio between pay and time away from home still doesn’t make sense. In addition, many companies still don’t pay for a lot of the time drivers spend out there. For example, detention pay AFTER 2 hrs if you’re lucky, so you give them 2 free hours! Layover pay blows ($100 AFTER 24 hrs sitting), if you’re lucky there too! Etc, etc.
What is you get a broom stick and have the brakes pressed down the entire time during idle? Will you get the alert?
envy you guys in the US, truck driving jobs in other areas of the world are pretty low paid and dangerous
Thanks again for another entertaining video. Can't wait for the next one.
how do you feel about the usa running out of diesel
We're not running out of diesel.
Hahahahah 🧢. If this was true then there would be chaos and everyone stealing it from gas stations .
How do you go about cleaning the grill plate? Do you just do it at a truck stop?
I love your videos. I've been driving for almost 2 years. I'm dedicated to Tyson only runs.
That yum yum sauce is good! I put it on rice n pot stickers
My daughter is half Ecuadorian. My wife was raised totally different from. We clash a lot.
I was an OTR driver for 27 years and I'm so glad to be retired, it's a different experience now and nothing as good as it was, the government stuck it's dick in the industry and ruined it forever, I've never seen so many destroyed loads in my life
Greetings from Ecuador man. Love your vids. You've got my dream job.
Hey Alex, I love the content man been watching since the beginning with your shorts. Can we get a ballpark on how much you make generally a month? Keep the grind man, I'm taking my classes rn.
Truck drivers make money based off completed orders I believe
Can't you just turn on cruise control then push the res button to set it at high idle? That's how I keep mine from shutting off with the idle timer
how much you pay for a full tank ?
Why don’t you use a broom handle to push the brake pedal
Good thing about being light is not really worrying about them chicken coops . Ain’t overweight and truck looks like everything is good. Damn dot inspections
Does your truck have an over ride for the idle shutdown timer? Also why don't you put it on high idle when you're stationary usually they don't shutdown when theyre on high idle or does your company not allow it?
Back when I was a Diesel mechanic I would always tell drivers to set their busses on high idle to prevent shut down they had Cummins and Detroit engines so i assume the technology is the same and the a/c works better and it's also better for the engine then low idle but the reason for that is mechanic stuff not much people care about. But anyway forgive me if I sound like that bossy kid I'm just always curious about how other drivers operate their equipment and what rules are in place, anyway sweet content it's always entertaining to hear your thoughts and see where your trips take you
its my dream from childhood to be Truck Driver
I'm currently in school to get my CDL right now. Trucking would be my dream job
Idle it up a bit with cruise and it won’t shut off
Pop out the trailer break only and let the parking break in to stop the idle shutdown.
That trick didn't work in the Cascadias that I've been in, just thump the Go pedal to reset and keep idling.
Love it!!! Been watching your videos for a while now! Been strongly thinking about getting into trucking. I have a questions though….. if the truck or trucks obviously depending on your company truck and the way it’s designed, doesn’t wanna stay idling long enough to cook! How does any trucker except it to stay on long enough to either A keep you cool with the a/c while your sleeping, or B the heat for when your sleeping ? I’m really don’t know, so feel free to educate! But I have to sleep cold, weather I’m in a hot or cold environment. Thanks!
I hate writing this much but here it goes . All trucks can stay idling forever as long as its hot outside and the AC will stay on . Like 75 degrees and stays on . If the trucks engine shuts off you can still cook with the battery . That’s how you turn on all the lights inside . Some trucks you can adjust settings to keep them idling all the time . Also newer trucks have electric APUs so you can use AC or heater without engine on . Also you might want to use the heater when its like 20 or lower in some states , especially now with winter ❄️
Are automatics the new thing in trucking?
You should get a short PVC pipe so whenever your truck yells at you for being idle you can press to brake with climbing over everything
Bro put your truck in cruise control and increase its rpm little bit to avoid idle shutting
Were you in St. Louis Mo on Thursday like 10 ish days ago?
@Alex, I just got a 2023 T680 and found an easy way to bypass the 5 minute idle shutdown. Let me know if you want to know how to do it. Be safe out there man.... 🤙😎
