Hi Michael! I’ve watched all the videos. brings back many happy CIM memories! Great to watch you and remember those days! I retired from academia in 2016. Perhaps you are aware of my son, Alek Shrader who won the Met auditions in 2007 and was featured in the film “The Audition.” Now he sings all over the world and heads the opera program at Notre Dame. He is married to Argentina mezzo Daniela Mack who is having a wonderful international career also. They are the parents of 4 year old Eva. Aija and I get to be grand parent nannies and often accompany them on various gigs. Living the dream vicariously! I appreciate the technique you instilled in me and I’ve tried to pass it on to my students as well. I’ll continue to watch and follow. All the best! - Jim Shrader
James Shrader Your son is phenomenal!!! I have been a huge fan ever since I saw “The Audition.” I am a tenor myself who has performed leads at operatic companies but not at the level Alek has. I am also a huge tenor fan, so I follow the handful out there I truly love to hear, and your boy is one of them! Did you study with Maestro Trimble? And if so, did you train your son in the early days? Best wishes to you and continued success for Alek!
Aaron Shaw Thanks! Yes, I studied with Michael 1973-75 at CIM and Aspen. I enjoyed a very small regional career before going into composing/conducting. Although I worked often with Alek in his formative years, his mother, Aija Jirgensons is credited with his primary training. It was she who sent him to Richard Miller at Oberlin and the rest, as they say, is history ‘
@@Tenoretrimble Great to hear from you! Great memories! PM me and we can have a conversation. My daughter Dorothy has her masters in vocal performance from Westminster Choir College where she used your book as a textbook!!! Currently she's the Manager for the Vocal and Opera Division at Curtis Institute. Alek and Daniela open Barber this weekend at Minnesota Opera! It's exciting to vicariously continue what little career I had through my kids! All the best! -Jim
Maestro, I come from Bangladesh. I have sung for the love of it with no training until a couple of years back. I’m 56 but with an intense passion to be able to sing like a professional. All my life, Indian subcontinental music is all I thought was for me. Now I have found my love for operatic singing inspired by the likes of Pavarotti, Tucker to name a few. I just started taking lessons and I love it. You inspire me so much. You give me hope. I follow you whenever I can. I’m hoping to go part time on my profession in less than 2 years to concentrate way more on my music. Thankfully, I’m still in great health with regular exercises. I just wanted to thank you for being one of finest teachers.
Mr. Trimble, are there any vocalizes specifically designed to program the upper range of the tenor voice? Any tricks of thought and/or otherwise for tenor high c's?
You are the best. Im a folk/pop singer and your methods on breathing and breath stopping have turned my voice into a cannon. thank you so much
Your passion and dedication to singing is contagious and so inspiring!
Thank you Mr. Trimble for your time and the videos. I also heard your recordings when you were younger - wow!! thanks a lot.

Thank you. Wonderful knowledge.

Also, my teacher in Australia told me that I have a high baritone voice. I suppose my voice is too shrilly for a tenor
@@Bangaliloner Did you train with the Maestro?
Unfortunately, I have not had the good fortune of training with the maestro as yet. I have not given up hope.
Thanks so much. I assume you are referring to the development of muscle memory?
