    The W800 is what a motorcycle ought to be. Not a washer machine without the shell. You have a beautiful bike and I hope you enjoy it for many years. Ride safe and enjoy every journey.

    Simon Merrin - I agree with your assessment.
    I have a 2019 W800 Street and in my first year with it (only about 7 months of ridable weather) riding the Rocky mountain foothills of western Canada I have completed well over 10,000km and am crazy happy with this bike. It's the perfect bike for me. For convenience (not looks) I added a Puig windshield, Gears Voyager saddle bags, Oxford heated grips and an Air Hawk seat pad. I tried a fly screen for a while (looked good) but it directed more turbulence than without. This bike has such light weight handling.

    Hi Simon: I am 69 and have had my 2022 W800 for a couple of years now. I fully agree with the points you made in your brief assessment. Just a great all round simple motorcycles with Kawasaki reliability and build quality.

    Beautiful bike Simon. I also have that bike in Candy Cardinal Red. Like you say the fit and finish level of these bikes is stunning, material quality is top drawer. I have had so many compliments regarding the bike, too. Many older people love to reminisce about their own old rides of the 60's. What has surprised me most is how many young people have walked by and offered compliments. Anyway, this bike fulfils my own childhood dream of owning a 60's BSA. I just love riding this bike with that wonderful sound and feel. You are right, Kawasaki really did a superb execution with this bike and prospective buyers should get one while they still can.

    Thank you, love that the walk around was within an arms length so I could actually see what you meant about the spectacular finish. Well done, thanks!

    Just bought my W 800…Candy Apple Red straight out of the box ,so far so good…lots of positive comments from other bikers …this style was popular before most bikes were even born ….no other bike out there comes close for looks.

    Congratulations! Nice review. I have a 2015 W800 in "Nocturne Blue". Love it, love it, love it. Can't see myself ever getting rid of it. Rides like it's on rails.

    You will find that the small amount of vibes will smooth out a lot as you run up the kilometers. I can't stay off of my W800 Street.

      I think , for me, it was the green and silver paint that sold it .

    I'm 56. I bought mine in September. I have about 4,000 km on it now and I absolutely love it. There's only 1 small annoyance. The side stand is directly beneath the peg so sometimes I have problems getting my foot under the peg to kick it down.

    • @simonmerrin7967
      @simonmerrin7967  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed, but its a small niggle on a pretty much perfect motorcycle 🏍

    • @kevinclayton4491
      @kevinclayton4491 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      just move the footpeg up with the back of your foot and you'll find the side stand is then nicely in position to be deployed.

    Beautiful bike. I also like the version which has lots of black trim - can't remember the model name. These are superb machines. Whenever I see a review I consider buying one.

    Obviously your happy with it. Do love the finish on these,Looking at this a bonnie or Enfield. How do you find ground clearance do pegs scrape easily if you ride a little lively ? Think clearance lower than others. A concern for this for me. Cheers.

    • @simonmerrin7967
      @simonmerrin7967  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cornering is good and you can hustle along at a good rate of knotts. The bike is quite softly sprung and would much prefer a more sedate pace . Ive owned the Enfield Interceptor and its a fine ,taught handling bike, again it only shows its budget suspension when really pushed. Peg clearance is good on both bikes. The Enfield is a good bit cheaper than the W800 and a bit smoother from the engine . The Triumph is on a par with the other two, but its nice to have something a little different.

    I was about to buy a Triumph until I found out it wasn't made in England/UK. That's like buying a Honda not made in Japan.

    That’s really handsome. I’ve looked at these at my local dealership here in Detroit and I’ve only been able to find the cafe model and the fuchsia red standard. I much prefer this green. I wonder if the State’s ever got this option

    • @simonmerrin7967
      @simonmerrin7967  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm not sure you did? It looks like only the cafe model came to you. If I'm not mistaken, blue and red were the only option available to you in previous models? . It was seeing the green bike that clinched the deal for me here in the UK.

      @@simonmerrin7967 I think the 2021 w800 here in the States is blue but it’s literally $3,000 more due to the discounts available on the previous year

    Simon any idea of mpg on the w800? I own a t100 (2017) and the best mpg i get is 83 mpg according to the computer which is amazing. The w800 is the best looking in my opinion, just looks so 1960s.Good luck with the bike and stay off the icy roads this winter.
