Before stuffing around with a tight Allen head bolt, give it a huge hit with a drift and a hammer or with a dedicated Allen key socket. 99.9% success rate. Don't play with alfoil and a tiny piece of Allen key and a cheap ratchet.

Thanks for the tip. The bolt was tight because the bracket is bent, so a good clout may we'll have helped!

@@tatatade Thank you, but don't be envious yet. I haven't got the bike running so I've no idea if there's any further engine damage. I'm not sure if I will repair or replace the engine. I may try push starting it just to see if it will run. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Just damaged my CB1300S front RH Indicator (smacked it with my wheelie bin - DOH). What a ferkin palaver to get at the indicator.......you have to strip half the bike down to get at the nut which fastens the Indicator Assembly to the Fairing. If only the dope who designed it had built in a hole in the plastic Inner Cover so you could get a socket on the nut ! After about an hour I gave up cos I wasn't able to spend any more time faffing around and I simply patched up the damaged Indicator. Surely - Indicators are a 'consumable' and their removal and replacement should take no more than 5 or 10 minutes......especially given the hourly rate that Honda Dealers charge !

I absolutely agree. That inner plastic panel: it's not just removing the screws. It's getting the ******* thing to unclip! Putting it on is easy.... taking it off is a battle Royale! Perhaps the Honda mechanics hourly rate is the reason it's so difficult? 🤔
I even had a struggle removing the two dome head screws holding the frame to the chassis. That was probably because the collision damage twisted the fairing frames. Then there's the electrical connector: easy off but fiddly to plug back in. The connector is in a shielded cover behind the headlight. It's hard to get one hand in, move the cover and push the connector together. Even harder if you want to use two hands!
Modern vehicle makers don't like home mechanics.
