Unitronic is a solid tuner with great customer service. I’ve used them on three of my VW. I currently have APR on my wife’s Tiguan so I’m leaning toward APR for my MK8 as I already have the ultra link to tune from home. Both Uni and APR got good reviews on their tunes for the MK8. Glad you are enjoying the car. It truly is fun. This is my 4th GTI and once you get used to infotainment, it truly is the best gen performance wise.
Hey, it sounds like the tune is solid, cannot wait for the later stages to come. Megan may need a neck support for those, great to see you two enjoying the upgrades together. Take it easy .
I have an intake on the car but no intercooler yet! But stay tuned on that I’ll have to add one especially for the summers here in Georgia where I live 👍🙂
@@Anthony-rt8puyou can but it’ll likely pick up a bit more power on the top end once you upgrade. IAT’s get high at 6000 RPM so when you do get an intercooler you should see a nice bump
I do! The Mustang was great and I still miss the looks of that car but the low end torque and fun factor when driving the GTI is awesome! Definitely enjoy it more as a daily 👍
@@daily_drivenI’m torn because I grew up on 84 GTI, had a Scirocco 16V, Mk4 Golf (1.8t stage 2) and currently a 2012 Passat VR6. Never owned a Mustang or a V8.
Gotcha! Thats cool man! Yeah the mustangs are top end cars as they make most of their power and torque high in the rpm band, so if you like that top end power you would enjoy the mustang 👍
Hey thank you! The power output is similar for sure to the ecoboost when tuned! Hard to say since the GTI is so much smaller it feels quicker but very similar to the ecoboost in how the power comes on. 👍🙂
Your wife hasn’t ridden in your car in a month….LOL, ok, not sure on that but thanks for creating this POV, it’s a great perspective. One thing I’ll say, stage II is going to be a big PITA in the MK8 w/ the downpipe….i think the majority is going to find that useless given the gains, most will probably go aftermarket turbo and at that point, if the downpipe is needed at that point, take care of it. I dont see many going stage II for like another 15hp.
Haha it’s true with the holidays and everything this was her first ride in the car since tuned so figured I would include it in the video. Yeah I agree with you, it doesn’t look like the gains are worth it for stage 2, I think stage 1 plus on E85 will be the sweet spot but we will see 🙂. Thanks for watching!
@@daily_driven Yeah, i dont know too many people excited about dropping the entire subframe to get a downpipe off and you're right, i'm there with you, E85 Stage 1+ is going to be the sweetspot on these cars, especially with Flex tuning, then it's pretty much set it, forget it, send it. :)

Nicely presented Tyler! Glad to see you enjoying the extra power. 👊
Thank you! Oh yeah lots of fun for sure! 👍

It definitely upped the fun factor for sure! Haha yeah I gotta figure out some sort of neck support for her 😂😂 Have a good one man!
I had the unitronic stage 1 + In my gti mk6 and it helped my overall gas ⛽️ mileage.
Awesome!! I’ll have to monitor mine closer. I’ve been having to much fun with it lol 😂
Amazing video man, appreciated the detailed info. I’m also considering Uni for my MK8.
Thank you! Appreciate that! Good luck on the decision, I think you will really enjoy it if you end up going this route 🙂👍
In Germany we say: Scheiße bleibt Scheiße
Hmm interesting lol 😂
Have a happy new year Daily•_•Driven
Thank you! Happy New Year to you as well!
Do you have uni intercooler and intake with the stage1 plus tune?
I have an intake on the car but no intercooler yet! But stay tuned on that I’ll have to add one especially for the summers here in Georgia where I live 👍🙂
Ok I was wondering if I could run the tune with the intake for now cause I don't have the intercooler yet either. I live in north Pennsylvania.

Any possibility of testing other tuners and comparing them ?
Great content idea 💡 not unheard of but still not enough are being done properly and a month each not a few days or a week
Not sure on that one, probably not as I’m really happy with Uni but good content idea!
started looking for a manual mk8 gti near me and found a 380 autobahn and probably will get it
Yo mannnn what exhaust are you going to put 😊😊😊😊😊 that’s the last thing need 🎉🎉
I’ve been debating on that actually! I’m leaning towards AWE at the moment, just can’t decide between the touring or track! Lol
@@daily_drivenI did the APR catback and it’s pretty nice.
@@TheMlvswollsame here. Great tone, decent volume and no drone
@@daily_driven track bro dooooo itttttttt!!!!!
What wheels are those?
These are the APR A02 19” Wheels! 🙂
That speedo looked slow ?
Liking it better than the Mustang 5.0? I grew up in a VW/Audi family.

@daily_driven Great video! How does it compare to the tune ecoboost?

Any issues at all with driveability or DSG behavior?
No nothing yet! It’s driving great! I was curious how the GBX file would run and so far so good 👍🙂

Ugh, I want to tune my Mk8 so badly...
Go for it! Ha🙂 It definitely changes the driving experience for sure! 👍
Tuned GTI or Tuned EcoBoost Mustang? 🤔
Ooo tough one! I’m liking the GTI right now as it’s smaller and feels more nimble but the ecoboost once tuned was a blast as well 👍
The Mustang stock will destroy a tuned GTI to the quarter mile ... and i drive a GTI
