Comments like Jimin must have learned from jk, just shows how little many are aware, as well as appreciate the so many abilities Jimin has always had, but especially in recent years go unnoticed, it was Jimin, being the Lead Vocalist, that was assigned most of the adlibs, high notes, as well as most background vocals since the very beginning. Jimin has always had the ability to blend, at times, so well that many weren’t even aware that Jimin was so often the one doing background harmonies, or just vocals, to either enhance, or to make the song have a fuller sound rather then to to make a point of being noticed, especially with adlibs. More and more of the parts Jimin was given to do, have now been assigned to other members where at times he’s given the least amount of vocals in songs. But yet even so Jimin has been able to do the best he could with what is given him to make it shine, though, especially when cameras aren’t on him, or when just listening many believe it’s other members singing. This is exactly why, sadly enough, many are surprised at his abilities now that he has free range to do as he pleases, rather then be confined to hold back, while in the confines of the group, where there are so many other members who want to shine. But here he is able to sing freely showing off the full range he always, had, adding adlibs, and add background vocals, that finally some who weren’t aware, can finally appreciate. Seeing Jimin perform this song live, like from Inkigayo performance, which is only safe one to see, you can even hear his spectacular higher notes as well as more raspier deeper notes he sang more in the background, now be brought out in the forefront in all their breathtakingly spectacular glory! 👍❤️🔥😍🔥🐥🥰✨
re: Like Crazy He was DEFINITELY getting something out. He's said this album was basically him working through his issues from the pandemic. Like Crazy was inspired by a movie of the same name, about a (doomed, I think?) long-distance romance between British and American college students. Again, I think the song's got a bit of a dark side... the club scenes look fun at first, but as you listen to what he's singing, they're kind of manic-- he's partying and drinking to avoid thinking about how the end of the relationship is going to break his heart. I think that mud or sludge represents the reality of the situation creeping in.

The combination of Jimin's aggressive side and his delicate side is perfect, this trait suits him so well that I love this feature of Jimin ,he gifted us the best songs of this year, "Like Crazy "is a Masterpiece !! and Jimin's "set me free" miracle ♡

Weird... I was just listening to my FACE 💿 in the car. Jimin is not my bias. So I didn't think I needed to pay his solo project that much attention. Boy, was I wrong! Every song on this album is heavenly gold (there is not a single throw away song)!!!
Same with D-Day - all masterpieces! These guys just can't make anything less than perfection!

Jimin's album "FACE" was his expression of facing the pandemic. It's about his journey, from start to finish. He was in a dark place. Like Crazy may seem like a "happy, clubbing" song, but listen to the lyrics. I see a lot of reactors talking through the "spoken" words at the beginning & end of the song. The end of the song, the buy is saying.....alone again.....what's the point? Jimin saying "this is gonna break me; and then don't try to save me....don't wake me....says a.lot to me. It's like he doesn't want his "delusion of happiness" to end; he wants to avoid the reality of what he's living in at the time. As far as Set Me Free Pt 2....Well, I believe that Jimin's had enough of the haters and he wants to live and enjoy his life, his way. He's not going to let the haters dictate to him anymore. He's trying to break through to just doing what he wants, the way he wants, regardless of whether people (think haters), may say. He wants to do things his way. Set him free from his insecurities and things that bind him to act & behave a certain way because of someone else's expectations. Think about how BTS members always consider ARMYs in their music & behavior. Always having to watch what they say & do, because of what fans may think. There are so many ARMYs that forget that BTS members are grown men and are human. I think Jimin, (and the others), just want the freedom to be themselves. These are just my opinions. I think that it's time for All of the BTS members to live life their way & not how their fans think they should be living it. Thank you for the reaction; loved it, as usual.

Thanks for this reaction, John. Both of Jimin's songs are high-impact emotionally and visually. Set Me Free has that feeling of liberation at the end and Like Crazy is a sadder song. Jimin worked so hard on this album - he said in Suchwita that he practically lived in Pdogg's house! With such excellent results - he sounds like a tortured angel in both songs. And Yoongi - his lyrics are so profound and full of honest emotions, no wonder Bang Si Hyuk called him the old soul. IU has such a sweet, emotive voice, perfect collab with Yoongi. Look forward to your reactions to the other solo songs of 2023 - a feast of awesome offerings from our OT7, they are an exceptional group; each member is a deep well of talent and not just musically. You haven't even delved into the other things they are doing - art, variety shows, fashion etc etc. You will be doing On the Street next, aren't you? Please, please, pretty please!
Jimin said in an interview or it might have been on Suchwita that the songs came from his feelings during the pandemic. He admitted he felt depressed and talked with Suga about drinking quite a bit but got it together before they did PTD. The sudden shutdown of everything affected some of them quite a bit because they had to cancel the MOTS tour and couldn't do anything in person. At that point none of us knew how long it would be before concerts and in person events would start again, if they ever did. For someone, like Jimin, who lives to perform I can't imagine how much harder 2020-2021 was.

Ahh, People Pt. 2 is such a vibe. The English lyrics were confusing to me the first time, too, but I think they're *supposed* to be disjointed and confusing, reflecting his experience in lockdown. Getting his emotions out onto the page helps Yoongi deal with them, and sharing them with us helps US all deal with similar issues. Music is the ultimate therapy.
I just love that lofi hip-hop sound. Like you said it seems like the randomness of chorus is like the verbal way of expressing that confusion. Plus he said in an interview he wrote it in English so international fans can sing along at the concert. Hearing everyone singing together, it sounded so beautiful. I really hope they release a live album.
I still remember how shocked we are as the Set me free pt 2 MV released! so different from all the soo songs Jimin had previously. The dark & cool image, outfit, lyrics, choreo... perfect dancer like Jimin (with the crew) require no crazy scene change nor production. Then he switched to Like Crazy again a totally different genre
Yoongi, it's rare to get so much singing part from him and not in lower tone. His choice of having IU featuring is absolutely beautiful, not only love her voice but as he told us that gave ARMY who don't even speak korean to sing along
♦Jimin mentioned that one of his fav movies “Like Crazy” inspired parts of the song aside from the title of song. In the beginning as well as ending to the song, he even uses excerpt wordings from it. Jimin has also said that many of the songs on the album convey what he was going through, his thoughts, his feelings, his emotions as well as despair & depression, during the pandemic in the last few yrs. He also was hoping that maybe it could help others by way of relating & going through similar difficulties during pandemic. So this song Like Crazy, could also be during that time, thinking back while laying his head down, on table in that depressing small room, dreaming of the better times in the past, when he was free to enjoy himself, as well as being with someone or with friends, or even around ppl in general, being able to be free to go out & party. Which is why he even said in the lyrics please don’t wake me up from this dream. I want to stay here.. Maybe, since dirt or mud means despair, that was what all the dirty grimyness including on his hands in the end, also represented, despair of situation, how he felt or how things were at that time, even when it seemed to even ooze into his dream state.
Thank you John, chapter 2 of BTS just hits different, and they make me feel like they're growing and getting more mature along with the Army 😊. Their music range is so diverse and interesting. I'm more curious and excited now as to how their reunion in 2025 would be like with all their solo albums coming out one after the other.

BTS songs always have such deep meanings to them and its the same with each member's solo projects .. Suga is a lyrical genius .. ❣Jimin “Set Me Free Pt.2’, it’s everything & more then I could hope for, Jimin’s amazing artistry, his so beyond spectacular,, so mesmerizing, phenomenal performance! The song, Jimin’s vocals, his dancing, the amazing choreography, also the amazing backup dancers, the lyrics he wrote, the music he composed as well as being involved in the production! Jimin was hands on, involved with every facet! No wonder the in-house legendary producer for BigHit Pdogg, who worked with Jimin throughout the whole album, stated that “in 2023 K-pop will be ended by Park Jimin”! Seeing this made me that much more excited, for the full album, Jimin’s “FACE” released on March 24, along with his main song ‘Like Crazy’ MV. Though Jimin’s song ‘Set Me Free Pt.2’, blew me away , meeting all my expectations & then some, I was also not totally surprised, because indeed Jimin is now ‘set free’ from the confines of being part of a group, to now be able to open up full throttle and ‘finally’ be able to release all that he held back for so many yrs! Jimin has been involved in every facet of creating this album! Hands on all the way, perfectionist that he is, including writing lyrics, composing, as well as being heavily involved in production! His parents were heart broken to find out how he needed to be lost in lights, than dealing alone at home with depression. They didn't realize how lonely and sad he was during a certain time in his life. Like Crazy is escaping his dark thoughts! It's a dark song at it's base.
I thought the beginning of Set Me Free reminded me of the beginning of Save Me in the way they panned up and the floor reminded me of the sand/dirt they were dancing on. And if anyone can figure out the Like Crazy sludge it resembles the Dionysus MV by Elisssa in that both JK and V appear to have something on their hands that they smear on their faces. Just wondering if there is a connection? Crazy BU or something? Love all 3 of these and can't wait to see what the rest of the year brings!!

Hi John. First of all thank you for all your awesome BTS reviews. I just noticed that forgot to include j-hope’s song with J. Cole “On the street” which was released on March 3, 2023 while Jimin’s song “Set me free pt. 2” was released on March 17, 2023 and “Like Crazy” was released on March 34, 2023. From how I see it Suga”s song with IU shouldn’t be reviewed in this video according to the BTS solo releases time line. 😊
Well, he did "Smoke Sprite" in the last video which was also released after OTS so I'm hoping it's just how he chose to group the songs and not that he missed it. Fingers crossed!
During the pandemic, he was betrayed by people, had his personal information leaked, and was harassed by antis. He drank to forget reality. Although he recognized that something was wrong, he must have felt helpless and did not want to do anything.

About your question John, no it's not Yoongi's home studio. This music video was filmed in Namhae city in South Cape Owner's Club. It's such a beautiful place, but also mainly for rich people. I love the song, lyrics but also aesthetics that's why I was searching for any information about this wonderful place
Jimin is my bias anyway but I was SO excited for Set me free part 2 to come out after the teasers we got I'm on UK time and the day it was released literally the first thing I did when I woke up like before I had even got out of bed was log into weverse and watch this video twice!😄 then I had to go to work and I was still so excited I wore my own version of his outfit with the blank tank top trousers and boots that day 🤭 Jimin looked way better than me though (obvs 😆)
