The dimming explanation was eh...still not clear. It seems the talkback doesn't have the preamp gain(ability) of the regular channel. So, does the dim, also reduce the level of those busses it's being sent to? Or is it only dimming in the headphone/mixing monitor ? Ultimately, if the talkback input doesn't have enough gain to be louder than the band playing, they won't hear you talk.
Great info. I watch a lot of reaction channels and some of them have their voice louder than music. Now I know proper term to use rather than telling them to turn down their volume...I need to tell them to dim their vocals. The problem is I have my earbuds turned almost all the way up while listening to some reaction channels and when they stop music to give a reaction, they almost blow my eardrums into infinite headroom! Damn!
You won't "need" to record it but for example if you make videos on TH-cam and you want to show how you set up monitors or you want to show yourself mixing live and include what you are hearing from the console and talking into it then you would record the talk back Or idk in extreme cases you can use it to protect yourself if a vand member accuses of saying something that you didn't say, you can show them the recording of what you said🤷🏻♂️
