If you read my comment, I've personally estimated a death toll of over 460,000 - and I can tell you how I came to this number. There is a Guardian article with medical personnel saying the death toll is more than 92,000. The Lancet applied a calculation of 4 indirect deaths per 1 direct death to get its initial figure of over 186,000 dead. Using the same variable, I got 460,000: (4*92,000) + 92,000. Obviously I'm not an academic or expert, but if you have connections to those people, please research my numbers and see what you get. The Lancet's article came out in June (186,000 dead), and The Guardian's article came out in July (92,000 dead), so those numbers are old. I doubt mine is accurate, but the number of 40,000 and even 186,000 dead needs to be updated. 460,000 is roughly 25% of Gaza's ~2mil population - I'm not sure how this genocide will end, but people need to be aware of my bodies we're responsible for.
