Apache is good in speed and pickup but in comfort,braking system, road grib and engine refining thr is no match of gixxer

The fairing helped the gixxer otherwise the wind blast can push it further back. But the gixxer is supremely refined...
Rtr pulls really well.. Sf came close because of aerodynamics..

It would have been king of 150cc , forget 3 and 4 but had 1 & 2 then it would have kicked d ass of RTR here .

RTR has come a long way! It's a very refined bike. RTR 2004v was a smashing hit product. It's great at power delivery in its segment plus superb handling in the city makes it a "must must consider" bike in the 160-200cc segment.
Surely this race was under wind blast condition, gixxer sf due to aerodynamics had the advantage. If this race was between Rtr and gixxer (naked) then trust me gixxer had no chance!
Gixxer is lighter hence it can compensate the low power figure with its power to weight ratio

gixxer lose initially because of its low torque, then decreased the gap with rtr because of that fairing which helped in high speed to dodge the air burst, then the speed got decreased again because of air cooling. I hoped more performance from rtr.
N.B. beacuse of liquid cooling v3,cbr, gsxr can do more

It is not just about the max power, refinement is a priority on the Japanese bikes.
Suzuki Gixxer is the winner here despite of less cc n 2 Valves clearly challenge a bike with more cc n 4 valves engine. What I don't like in bike reviews they avoid discussing technical aspects.
Only who win in the race.
Any bike whose valves is more in engine will have more engine power n pickup and perform better while racing.
Ex: so why Yamaha R15V3 is expensive than its 250 sibling FZ25 despite its 154 something.
More valve's means less engine life & mileage but performance will be more in comparison to its competitors whose engine has only 2 Valve.
Advantage of 2 Valves more engine life n mileage if ride wisely. Economical to maintain too.
All reviewers must mention n test total payload capacity of bike.
In aeroplane they are very careful for payload whether it's passengers or their luggage.
In India most of the bike's payload is 130 kg out of which imagine bike itself is more than 100kg n rider also more than 75 kg. Then imagine why they neglect this Most CRITICAL aspect while giving review. Daily no one ride 100 plus all the time.
All 150-200cc TVS Apache's are based on same fiero Engine that was developed by Suzuki. Ask any mechanic how old fiero Engine parts still can be replaced by Apache parts. Why ? Marketing n sales is considered not the point of high quality of Engineering. Running fast is not the only quality of Jungle's King. That's why see the matter not only with one aspect that who win in race.
Only old apache 160 and 180 are fiero based the new 160 4v and 200 4v are completely tvs the proof is see the engine head its completely different, bore is completely different and the gear box is 5 speed while fiero had only 4 gears
And in this video Gixxer gave good competition I agree but that's because of full fairing aerodynamic advantage and split stream method used by Gixxer rider. While apache did not have aerodynamics this is not a fair comparison, naked Gixxer will be a fair comparison. And you told it has less cc Yamaha R15 with the same 155cc can win over some 250 cc bikes and all 200cc bikes. Gixxer is a good machine undoubtedly.
And who told 4 valves will reduce engine life it will give engine better life and power and do you know something apache 160 4v gives the best milage in it's segment so it doesn't reduce milage.

Actually a bike mechanic who is so talented that by sound he guess what happened inside engine that person once told all who deal everyday with bike engines. In any bike you never find only advantages only. You may be agree or not see the no valves changes inside engine in this many years. You notice the angle of cylinder head of all models n tvs victor to all tvs small bike n see the design elements. U notice where I try to point out.

Both has same rev range limits ie 1 to 12 X 1000 RPM though the power and torque are different. However, Apache is reving at max rpm limit (9 to 10), but in Gixxer it is 8 to 9. This may increase the pickup and top speed in each gear as seen clearly in Apache. Difference may come little down in reality if they are reved at the similar rev range.
