      @@EternalHarvestDecor So I am finally moving forward w this table, but had a setback. The table has a decorative deep crack going around the top. I filled it in because it’s a crumb collector. It’s also been primed with BIN shellac primer because we needed to make sure there was no bleed through. Our plan changed to solid color paint, but now that I see your video again, I wonder if it can still be done like this. 🤔 Primer is white. I planned to do the piece much brighter because the room it’s in.. everything is light and airy. Sorta has a beachy or garden feel to it, so it would work better. Do you think this look can still be achieved on something primed white? 🤣 This damn table is not going according to plan. 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️ I just really am trying to avoid it being boring. 🙃

    Hey! Thank you so much for your help! I've been wanting to make a murphy desk in a inset in one of my walls (it's weird) but I was so pissed when I started because it looked nothing like what you had done but I kept at it and streaked the darker color (I used weathered grey and ebony...because that's all I found at HD) with the light grey and wiped and it actually turned out so perfect so a big, huge thank you!
    Edit: once I finished everything and got it set up perfect I ended up streaking ever so slightly with a satin white I was using to touch up a wall, i streaked and wiped immediately in thin lines and slightly curved long lines and it made the desk pop so much more. Thanks again for the help and good luck all!

      Robo Trump wow that sounds like it was a really cool process! I love low gloss or satin the most for my clear coats and I use deft fro Home Depot or polycrylic from Lowes if it’s going on a wall that should be perfect!

    great instruction vid! exactly what i was searching for, thank you. have you tried technique this on newly distressed wood? i have 12 fake rustic beams and 600'+ of tounge n grove, to try to match fake barn wood vinyl cupboards/ flooring to. its very close to your finish but maybe jus the 2 base colors with white, and the beams a shade darker gray than the t&g. my concern is that the distressed dimples will just be the last color applied and dimimish the effect or point of distressing. any advice that would save a step much appreciated.

    Fantastic video I'm trying to do cabinets in a kitchen can I achieve this look without major major sanding, now I have seen a video where some one just scuff sanded the stained cabinet which was brown, then he put down antique white then he did the dry brush look with a carbon grey and looked like yours it was fantastic more like a driftwood effect but that's what I'm trying to do. also I'm really into the music in the background could you tell me who it is.Thanks!!

    Question. I love your technique, but what technique would you use in a situation where you have varnished dark furniture. I was planning and lightly sanding it and priming and start with a light base coat...then move to the stains. What's your opinion?

      I actually have seen people us oven easy off, it takes the wood back to its natural color first and then start from there

    Love the look of this! I decided to do my dining room table for my first staining project lol. The first color I was going to do was Carbon Grey but then thought it might be too dark so I also got a can of Classic Grey. Would those 2 colors still work for this type of look? Is an accent color necessary? Thanks for you help :)

    • @EternalHarvestDecor
      @EternalHarvestDecor  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think pretty much any wood color would work with this technique, I would say just be sure to practice and try the colors out first to achieve the look you want. Then put it on the final piece. Love carbon grey, you just need a lighter and darker color and you may want to add some brown tones if you want it mimic wood. The accent color is not necessarily at all just fun to tie in decor if desired

    I loved this technique! I am not sure about the wood because I have a red oak table top. The colors on the red oak look different than the colors in this video. I have classic gray and jacobean. Do you have any experience with the red oak?

    • @EternalHarvestDecor
      @EternalHarvestDecor  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi!! I do! so red oak is named that because when its wet in any way it does just that, pulls red. It can be super hard to color match. I would suggest white washing the whole thing first, or you could even bleach it. Sometimes the bleach makes the wood lighter like a pine to pull differently. Do you have any scraps you can play with? I would suggest trying a bunch of different stains on a few sample pieces first to find what you really like. Good luck!

    Hi Brandi...I just have a couple of questions. What kind of "sheen" did you use for the paint? (i.e Semi-gloss; Matte;.....etc) For the white, is it a Ultra Bright white or a different one? Also, can you use stain instead of latex paint for the color and white? Example.....Teal stain and White Wash Pickling.
    Thanks!
    Frank

      Hi thanks for watching it’s most likely satin sheen, that’s what I usually have on hand. I’ve never tried it with color stain, I usually Suggest that people make some sample boards to play around with and learn how to do the look the way that they want it.good luck! 👋🏼

      @@EternalHarvestDecor Wow....thank you so much for the quick reply. You see, I'm wanting to do do something awesome for wife as she is dealing with lymphoma cancer. VP ORD hi no prob, give your wife my best I would go with the pure white as the wood is supposed to look a bit weathered. But anything would work, it all depends on the look you want.
