So true!! This scene had me in tears... the emphasis on the tear wipe, the verbal and physical empathy expressed by Glinda, Elphaba showing that she is mentally strong. What really got me was when she put the hat on and tilted it... That was Elphabas turning point: The optimism dropped, she finally accepted that she wouldn't be accepted....I said to myself "The monsters we make"... The dance itself showed that the characters were completely the opposite but were complete while together... Yin and yang. Together, they would've been unstoppable rulers.
i literally started crying, she looked so happy to be there with her new hat, and everybody just stopped the vibe... glad i wasn't the only person who cried during this scene
I bawled my eyes out ! With my wife . To be seen as a person ! That all any human wants . Male female, trans, black , brown, white gay straight it really doesn’t matter! We want to be seen as a human in this weird experience we call life🎉😊
I cried at this part and felt so sorry for Elphaba and such a beautiful moment. It takes guts to face a fear in front of bullies.. I can’t stand bullies at all. You just want to hug her when she cries ❤
I cried both times i saw this in the theaters ugh who ever has gone thru as being seen as the weird kid or rejected for not being what society sees as "attractive" will understand this scene on so many levels. A powerful moment in the movie, even down to the moment Glendas so called "friends" told her to stop and she didnt is also a representation of how people are cool with u until you do something that THEY dont like smh 🙏🙌 loved this movie.
My second favorite scene, the first one was when Elphaba was wearing the cape given by Glinda and she was holding her broom. She moved the cape in such a powerful way that I even felt dust coming out, she was getting ready to follow her destiny with confidence!
Great scene, I have never seen the play so i didn't know what Elphaba was doing at first, she looked like she might have been trying to cast a spell on them. When Glinda joins her the acting is superb, showed how no one else really understood what passed between them in that moment, not just "this person did something nice for me so I'll be nice to them" but "this person understood something about me that no one else did before."
I cried for most of the parts in this movie like when she was dancing alone, falling and saw herself as a child, and at the end where they called her a wicked witch she's not wicked she's just misunderstood 😔😭
I was balling dude. This got to me. I've seen many sad movies. This is the first time i cry for a human and not a dog dieing in a movie cynthia and ari need their awards rn🏆🏆
Despite their initial animosity towards each other, Glinda truly saw Elphaba. Where everyone else saw someone who doesn't care what others think, Glinda saw someone hiding their pain of constant rejection beneath a mask of confidence aloofness
I love to see this movie over and over again just for this scene. It’s so heart wrenching and heartwarming at the same time. Anyone else felt the same? Couldn’t stop crying. I was literally sobbing in the cinema. 😢
This scene is why I have a hard time characterizing Glinda as a villain. She may not be “good,” but she’s certainly not evil. A truly evil person wouldn’t be able to put aside their own image and desires to show true acceptance to someone who desperately needs it. Bravo to these actresses. I cried my eyes out in this scene.
Love this scene and loved that Ariana didn't know the dance. Completely unscripted. I'm definitely an Elphaba. I am an outcast. No friends, family has forgotten about me and I them as they were manipulative and backstabbing. I'm just not as brave as elphaba to not care what people think.... I tend to be a wall flower..... smile and be silent. Don't speak out. I'm talked to not heard. No one sees me....
I see your comment and Jesus sees your need❤ I pray you know Him and His love and that others comment to tell you how special and desired you are by God flaws and all I wish you the best and if you need help please seek it out ❤❤❤❤
I’m also a wall flower with no friends. :/ I desperately long for friends, but sometimes it’s better to be there for yourself instead of others letting you down 💔
@@yl4587I think they’re curious on how they got this video since it was only just released in theaters. It’s pretty high quality of a clip, definitely not filmed on someone’s phone in a dark theater

@@melodicazure this was always an adlib part of the musical since it has to be portrayed that no one connects with Elphaba (since her dance is so unique for her pain) even in her form of dance except when Glinda tried to dance with her, Arianna did not learn the choreo to make that part authentic -- now here's a tissue and hugs
Elphaba being accepted by Glinda and her crying made me feel her pain of being rejected all her life.
It was on that night, they became sisters

The whole theatre was holding their breath this entire scene. Never heard silence like it. 💔
This scene healed a piece of the bullied hurt child I once was. Dying for acceptance. Thank you Cynthia and Ariana.

I sobbed like you. As soon as I saw her happy in her hat. By the time they danced together my grandma was crying right next to me.

The look on Fiyero's face when he sees the tears in Elphaba's eyes gets me every time 🥺🥺

He begins to think
And yet he thought he knew what Elphaba was all about but he did not and Glinda was right
Cynthia crying so effortlessly lets you know she BECAME Elphaba in this film… Cynthia was BORN to play her 🥹
No one in the theatre even breathed-out of respect for this beautiful, unbelievable scene...
Too busy crying maybe
And that this moment I witnessed one of the best scenes in cinema history. Couldn’t stop tearing up here. 💖

They're the sisters that never knew who needed each other. Elphaba needed acceptance and glinda needed to appreciate others

They said she improvised that
This moment in the movie almost made me cry in the theatre, it’s just so beautiful.
I’ve never seen the plays but this scene had me soo emotional, I literally was crying in the theatre. I felt her pain, soo raw
POOKIES FOREVER BROOO I FELT SO EMOTIONAL WHEN I SAW THAT PART
This is wholesome 😊
The real villain of Wicked part 1 is obviously Nessarose. Since she didnt stand up for her sister in her moment of need.
I thought that was f'd up too. That's her own sister... And all she had to say was "I can't watch"

Glinda has a bigger internal battle than Elphaba. She tries to fight her feelings because expectations of others weigh her down
If you ever felt what Elphaba felt then this got you.
im crying again 😭

Glenda is horrible ahe put everything into there friendship and then burned her ahe is evil
God. I hate it when TH-camrs replace the original music with some sad sack music. The original score was way better.
Wtf is this song?
