- Cave Johnson here: Today we make a 3D printed, hand finished prop from the one and only Aperture Science- aherm, I mean TheZachofAllTrade’s workshop: Ladies and gentleman, today we’re making a laser equipped Portal Turret.
Zach Hanson is a movie and video game prop enthusiast who enjoys creating in his free time.

I'm waiting for the day someone makes a 1:1 scale Portal turret with working guns.
I know there is a 1:1 turret that was made and delivered to Valve years ago, but new tech has come out and tech has gotten a lot better since then.
That'd be quite the undertaking! I never fully realized how big a 1:1 sized turret was until I comparatively modeled it.

Awesome to see your process on making my turret. The files are also avaliable on printables and myminifactory, the plans for the legs are in the instructables project for a moving turret that inspired me, it is linked in the description of the project. 3mm aluminium or any metal plate for the feet and 4mm rod for the legs.

@@drowhodis556 I think the radio from Portal is a very real possibility. Solid idea! Between you and I, I'm working on a couple projects right now. One of them is a huge articulating space core from Portal 2. When and if the radio ends up being made, would you like credit for the idea?

That’s a great idea! I also made a Portal core as well with a similar amount of interior space for a google home. Another fun build
i really want to make a full sized turret that shot nerf darts, since nerfguns have a similar mechanism to the turrets guns so the turrets can fire "The whole bullet" (thats 65% more bullet, per bullet) as an in universe explination for why the turrets dont instantly kill you, being revealed in the
" Aperture Investment Opportunity #3: "Turrets" " ad for portal 2
you could even use sounds for the defective turrets for when a turret runs out of ammo like the clicking when trying to shoot, maybe even changing the dialog set from the more friendly sounding normal turret voice to the set of the defective turrets deeper voice slightly more gruff voice
