One design issue I think, is you squeeze the stem and click it twice to advance your songs. On 3rd gen you tap the large speaker. The difference is by grabbing the stem each time, you tend to loosen the bud fit in your ear. Not always, but the bud falls out a few times while running. The old tap to change never had that problem for me. I would not have changed that tap function. That said, the newer Pro version sticks in the ear, almost airtight if you want that. I do not like that Airtight fit. So that's why I'd stay with this version as the best trade off of comfort, use, and overall feel.

But I do have a big question: any suggestions to charge my AirPods when using an earhook to have them properly seated in my ear? Basically, I unfortunately have one of those ears in which AirPods, EarPods and most in-ear headsets just don't fit/stay. Given the high price of the AirPods and my for sure not wanting to ever lose them (sometimes even without noticing that they fell from my ear, because they are so inobtrusive), I have purchases simple earhooks that secure them properly in my ear (I bought EarBuddyz 2.0 Ear Hooks and Covers Accessories for Apple AirPods). They work great but my AirPods don't fit in the charging case unless I pull them out each time I need to charge the AirPods. I'd love to find a solution where I could charge the AirPods while keeping the EarBuddyz on. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks!

The only way I've been able to duplicate your issue is by the AirPods not being active. So my best recommendation would be to Uninstall the AirPods while your iPhone is connected to the internet so they get removed from iCloud as well, restart your iPhone, wait about 10-20 min. for iCloud to catch up, they pair them again. If that doesn't work I'd recommend resetting your AirPods and then trying again. If that doesn't work then I'd recommend talking to an Apple Genius at the Apple store as something is seriously wrong!! Hope it works out for you!!

They do make a chime sound when they connect to a device and when the battery is low they make a different sound that's hard to describe, but you can't mistake it!

please help i ordered a replacement airpod and continue to try and get the amber flashes to go away and after following the apple instructions by charging for 20 minutes i still cannot get them to flash white. Please help i dont want to have to reoder a replacement for a replacement :(
One would think explaining how to charge them are for how long would have been the first thing you touched on. Way too many people out there assume people know and gets really frustrating.
I touch on that topic more in this video: th-cam.com/video/nFWf2n1CQG8/w-d-xo.html But the gist is you don't really have to worry about how long, they're designed in such a way where they can't be overcharged for the most part. Depending on the power source they usually charge pretty fast, maybe an hour on average when I plug my AirPods case with the AirPods inside in to my 5W iPhone charger.

AirPods don't have lights on them, only the case has 1 status light. So if your headphones have lights on them, they aren't Apple AirPods.

It's a good idea, but they usually come partially charged. But they are Lithium Ion batteries, so there isn't a necessity.

No, they’re still Bluetooth headphones, so they will work with most devices that support Bluetooth audio!!

No, they are both paired to the same phone at the same time whether it's iPhone/Android. They setup as a pair.
