    I’ve found fishing, while not being the most interactive experience, a very reliable source of xp. You can also disenchant any fishing rods or bows that you get for even more xp

    For the early game I tend to do a lot of fishing. It's a bit boring sometimes but there are a number of advantages.
    1: XP from the fishing itself.
    2: You get enchanted books, bows and fishing rods. These can be used or combined on an anvil, or disenchanted for xp.
    3: If you keep all of the fish you fish up you can level up a fisherman village (especially if you cured them). This unlocks a boat trade, which allows you to convert wood to emeralds.
    I'll admit that you really do need an anvil to make much use of the books, so maybe its not really "early" game. But certainly something that could follow the smelting iron from stony peaks method.

    For the outpost, take a trap door and place it on the ceiling of the entrance to the outpost so when it is opened it covers the top half of the door. Pillagers cannot enter the structure when the trap door is in this position, Go up to the top and raid the chest and get 6 fences. Put the fences in the outpost windows so they can't shoot in. When pillagers crowd by the door you can safely take them out with a sword. Place a portal and bed on top of the outpost and eventually connect it to your nether hub and back to your base. Put a workbench, oven, honing block, and chest inside near the door so that you can disenchant and burn dropped crossbows to make glass or smelt ore and make even more xp while you are harvesting pillagers. Very good early xp farm that stays useful until you get a better monster spawner farm or big zombie-cured villager trading center setup for sticks, berries, melons, iron, etc

  • @JMR7Six
    @JMR7Six 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    I traded my way up in hardcore mode. It's enough to where you can get the infinite trades such as buying bookshelves for an emerald and then selling 3 books for an emerald each. You have to zombify and cure villagers a couple of times, but it's really not hard. In addition to that, you can get some pretty good trades from villagers and it's less hazardous.

    • @Draganism
      @Draganism 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I'm not sure if curing zombie villagers is early game. It depends how your game unfolds but you need a potion stand which requires blaze rods which requires an extended trip into the dangerous nether. Good idea but I thought it would be more mid-game.

    • @JMR7Six
      @JMR7Six 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I really don't think getting the blaze rods and nether wart is much of a problem, which depends on your play style and how comfortable you are in the nether. My biggest issue in this strategy is time. Getting set up to efficiently zombify and cure villagers is time consuming as is getting the right trades. With a few farmers though, you can trade your way into some emeralds fairly easy. I think with two productive play sessions you can get set up pretty well.

    A nice and easy way to get xp early game is to set up a cactus farm that funnels into a smelter array powered by your choice. Personally I use a simple bamboo farm to power the smelters. This is also a way to store a ton of xp all at one if you siphon off the green dye into a chest the furnace will still hold all the xp from all items smelted. Also smelting cactus gives the most xp per smelt out of any item.

    Fishing early game is a grind but valuable to invest in early game. Finding an infinity bow with BONUS power 4 or so is a great help, some books to boot (and perhaps some boots to boot too), and food, and XP from cooking that food. Overall if one puts their time in they get to enjoy the fruits of their crime and being overall in a better position to survive early game. For pure XP, nether quarts is the quick fix.

    I only use the smelting as that little bit extra I might need to get an enchant, I will say the first thing I do when I get the RSS for it I quickly set it up to store XP so it isn't wasted I mean all you need is a switch, a hopper and an output chest. 2 chests and 5 iron are easy to get after you get a sword and pick and then I store all the xp while getting the rest of the gear and there sits an xp store for when I start enchanting

    I think that fishing is great alternative to be honest. If you keep doing it, and if you're lucky enough, at some point you will get an enchanted fishing rod with a set of enchanments such as: Attraction (very useful to farm experience faster); Mending (combined with the other one you can just keep on fishing with out caring about durability); luck of the sea (this is a win if you get a fishing rod with this and one of the other enchanments)
    After a while, I generally get an enchanted fishing rod with unbreaking, mending and attraction, wich is very useful. With a enchanted rod is way more easier to get enchanted books and enchanted items early game.
    I'm team fishing rod :D

    If you are willing to deal with outpost or nether combat the new caves can be good too. I like to use a water stream as an elevator to get in and out. Light up the area around the water to spawn proof it, and then day or night I have a pretty consistent stream of mobs. I tried experimenting with making tunnels or walls to direct traffic, and I liked having a wall about three high and ~15 blocks long to get a break from half of the visible mobs. I tried using multiple walls and found it tedious and not really worth it. Those caves also have a lot of ores for the grabbing, and can be a good way to find mineshafts, ancient cities, geodes, and in my experience if you die, just plop back down to grab your stuff and then leave

    Nice easy one is to use dark oak or spruce trees and create giant trees cut them down and convert them to sticks and sell to a fletcher. You get so many sticks from one harvest you could get a lot of gems and then turn around and buy food or equipment from others and all that will give you xp. Do that a couple times and you could easily get to 10 to 20 levels if you do it right.

    In my opinion, absolutely definitely surely the best way to gain XP not only in the early game but always is, pig breeding just a carrot farm (better if automate it with villagers) and a big area for so many pigs and breed them, this method quickly gives you so much XP by breeding them and even more by killing them and consistently good food source ✌️

    i would argue that a spawner farm could be considered early game considering that the bare minimum materials for it are literally two buckets of water and fists to dig (a pick would be ideal obviously). but yeah done spawners can just be hanging out at cave entrances occasionally and you just did your 9x9x5 and you can bring them over. don’t even need to drop them really so no dire need for the soul sand if you don’t have it. also fishing can be really nice especially if you can pull a god rod and just sit in the rain and start reeling in the profit

    I would argue a non automatic bamboo farm could be considered early game. If you find bamboo, and a village, you could farm the bamboo a lot, you could make many sticks, and trade with villagers consistently. Specifically the fletcher. The trick to it is literally planting hundreds of bamboo, and then breaking only the second block going up once the bamboo has grown big. I'll warn you that this can get boring. However, it is technically early game.

    For me, even though it can be not so easy to find I always try to build a spawner xp farm, materials are not too hard to find and it's a pretty fast build. Other than that I find the trading method the easiest and fastest one! And it's super useful to get great items at the same time

      I usually build a mob farm up the skies with two layers of spawning platforms and some trapdoors to prevent spider spawn. I takes some time to build and get enough wood, but after it's set up, it's pretty fast to get level 30 (I believe it takes 10' to go from 0 to 30)

    My go to is a simple spawner farm. If it’s zombies you don’t even need to do any funneling, just let them find you where they can’t reach you.

    chicken farms are good, you can 100% automate them for the purposes of xp generation moreorless by just adding an auto-renewable fuel source (ie, bamboo or kelp farm). Infinite decent food, infinite xp, and no need to even do anything except grab chicken. Toss a villager in to trade the raw chicken with and you can generate emeralds.
    I suppose you could do the same with a fish-mob cooker, where the fish get yeeted by bubble columns into cobwebs and suffocate, their dead bodies getting pushed to a collector when they fall out. That would compress the farm by eliminating the growth timer.

    Every world I start I try to get farms especially potatoes because they drop up to 3 from 1 and then I can trade with a farmer villager and that gives pretty good xp and I love the smelting ores idea

    I prefer a variation of the outpost method. Run into the structure, and place one block in the 2x1 doorway. Now they can't get in, but will run towards it when they see you. Move to the side when they shoot, then smack them. Also just very satisfying to steal their home when the outnumber you like 20-1. You can even make it a little base with a mine, and do smelting at the same time.

    Instead of a field at nighttime where you can get overwhelmed (surrounded) easily, if you are near an ocean, standing on top of your boat and coaxing spiders and zombies over to you, they are super slow in the water and you can take them out easily and safely. If too many skeletons lock on to you, boat away to another spot along the shoreline.

    Fishing is a really easy way to gain xp, especially in the ocean biome. And getting sticks from punching leaves and string from spiders isn’t hard. You can get levels 1-10 very fast, then it slows down a bit for levels 10-20, then slows down some more after level 20.
    The process is even faster if/when you fish out an enchanted fishing rod with Lure and Luck of the Sea. Plus you can get enchanted rods and bows that you can use or disenchant (for even more xp).
    And mega bonus, you’ll fish out enchantment books and so much food!

    Probably mob spawner. I had one with a fish and kelp farm right next to it and a smelter for loot,dried kelp. But the guardian farm i have now is just insane but not possible early game.

    For me what helped me early game was smelting. I needed tons of copper and tons of calcite for a build so I headed off to stony shores and stony mountains and then mined and smelted all those ores.

    Find yourself a place to settle directly next to the ocean or other water you can fish in.
    1st Set up a Farm
    2nd Get yourself some cows
    3rd Mine near the farm so the crops have time to grow while you go mining
    4th With the mined stone and ores set up some furnaces, also near the farm
    5th Breed the cows
    6th Fish while you wait for the cows to grow up and the ores to smelt
    7th get the ores out of the furnace and craft better gear
    8th kill some cows (safe the leather for books) and breed the rest
    9th rinse and repeat step 4 to 8
    Barely any risk of loosing the XP you've already gotten and it involves a lot of different things to do and enjoy early game. Easy as that.

    Bucket method to set up the nether portal and then going to mine quartz is a very effective xp method and safer than killing anything. Quartz gives a ridiculous amount of xp.

      Ender ender.

      imho the best exp farm late game is the nether roof gold farm. It is fully auto and you get more exp than you can pickup per second.. I think its better than the ender ender even if a bit harder to make. Also gold isnt the most useful but helps pay for rails.
      For mid game i dont know. I always struggle with mid game exp after the first few tools are enchanted.

    Sticks is the best villager trade for xp and emeralds without a farm, or with a simple iron farm (a small one can be built in less than an hour) iron is a great villager trade.

    I would mine down to the diamond level and strip mind. With the cobblestone I got. I made a wall of furnaces and smelt the cobble, while it Cooked I would strip mind. Pull all the cobble and get lots of xp along with smooth stone, what do I do with so much. Make it fancy and I have good blocks to make my house look nice.

    honestly killing mobs is way more effective than I gave credit. A lot of the time when i start a new world i just grab one piece of iron for a shield and just adventure killing cows and grabbing sugar cane at day and killing all the hostiles at night and by the time I've found a base location, im almost at level 30 and ready to enchant
