    I tried 2 other cheap models off of Amazon before I got the farmlite. I love the option that I can run it off electricity. Love that the instructions are clear. Love that there are videos on manufacturer's website with a qr code to go right to it. I can open or close the door before the timer goes off using test button. Hoping to get the solar setup for the spring/Summertime so I'm not having to run over an extension cord.
    Highly recommend this chicken door. And if I see anything in the chicken groups on fb about it, I always tell them about the 2 crap ones and this one is the one to go with.

    Hey Steve, hope the door is still working well for ya! Let me know if you ever run into issues, I had a batch of motors that ended up having some gearing issues and had to send a few of the new motors out to correct the issue. They were from the August-September timeframe which is when I sent the door to you. Let me know if you run into any issues.

  • @jonathanblack1416
    @jonathanblack1416 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The other one jammed most likely because the screws were too tight in the frame was flexed too much making it hard for it to have enough power in the motor to pull it up or down. Saw a guy that installed one and said it’s import not use a screw gun so you don’t make the problem happen. Ales sense when you think about it.
    It was a cheaper build but that was probably the issue.

If the motor or something goes bad I replace it under warranty or offer an at cost replacement. The chicken door we originally purchased, unboxed and returned before installation was $20.00 more. It didn't have remotes, A/C power cord, ability to connect to solar panels. FarmLite is the chicken door standard!

    Had the older version (connector looked different) and it only lasted about a year. It seems most of these should be designed to be mounted inside the opening with a light sensor on the outside - this would help to protect it from the elements. Have yet to find one that holds up. Oh, programming is a joke. Keep the book as you will need it to reprogram it the first few times.

    It has always been true that a company selling a quality product has little need more than offering the product, it will sell itself among consumers when it's merits are earned. It certainly doesn't require trolling competitors and slandering their products to create a perception of superiority. That's just bad form and doesn't go unnoticed by wary consumers.

      If your product is defective then you should definitely each out to them. I find it comical that you dont understand that 2 things can both be manufactured to a different degree.

    • @kolobkolobkolobkolob
      @kolobkolobkolobkolob ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Everything, most things are made in China however when you design a product to be manufactured in China the designer gets to decide how and what it’s made of. For example one brand of coop door will have plastic Moyer gear another may have metal motor gear. Some brands are local in the USA like this one is and others are just direct from other countries. This fella has warehouse in USA and aims to search people direct from USA. It would be nice to have a 100% USA made product but the cost would be much higher and the quality may still not end up where it needs to be. Manufacturing is slowly returning but much to India and some other naeghboring countries around there. I think it best if from time to time the Poster here just updates how the door is working, if there have been any issues, how the issues were resolved and during what time frame and if within the one year warranty period. I’m always fair with my reviews and unbiased but work with small and large manufacturers in reviewing products in a very fair way. Anyone who starts a business and is making there way forward should be saluted and love small business owners.
