A restorative justice circle held between a teacher and a student who was being disruptive at the former Cole Middle School in Oakland, California. Shot as early research for the documentary film Circle Up (www.circleupdoc.com).

She is not really listening to him. lol, she's getting defensive. Basically, he is trying to say that she had a bad day or morning before she got to the class and is taking it out on the class but she just said that she doesn't have anything going on outside of the class .lol. Everyone has bad mornings at home at some point in their lives

Tone policing (what you are doing) is not an RJ core value. Her response is meaningful and has value regardless. There is no judgment or blame.
