Started my portfolio last year with SCHD, VOO, and VUG after watching one of your videos. In terms of share price, VOO is way up (22.25%) and VUG is waaaaay up (39.62%). Thanks for the education!

Isn't VOO and VUG similar in the sense both are investing in the S&P 500? What is the difference? I thought it is generally advised against to invest in multiple ETFs or Mutual Funds?

A lot of folks downplay the role of advlsors until being burnt by their own emotions. I remember couple summers back, after my lengthy divorce, I needed a good boost to help my business stay afloat, hence I researched for licensed advisors and came across someone of utmost qualifications. She's helped grow my reserve notwithstanding inflation, from $275k to $850K.

Protecting your capital is much more important than making money. Basically because if you lose your capital, making money is much harder. ''Missing the train'' vs. ''losing your money''. There are a lot of trains, but if your money is gone, it's over.

Like Warren Buffet said, dividends are only good if the business you're investing into can't make good use of that capital. So, if you're trying to invest in businesses with actual growth, looking at dividends is a waste of time. Why are you investing into a company if they're returning capital to you because they think you can make better use if it than they can. It's not much different from bond investing. The way I see it, if you have a $1 million at some point, that'd be enough to create a portfolio that would pay you between 50k - 70k in dividend income.

As a retiree of the self storage industry and income investor, I do not own any storage REITS. The last one I owned was NSA which I sold 12 months ago. One of the few negatives of this sector is the issue of supply on the market. At this time the industry is the at the top of historical supply when considering square feet of supply per capita. Growth of FFO(funds from operation) will be hard to come by until the oversupply is worked off. Dividends are fair however, for me there are other better options in different income sectors to pick from. Also, remember REITS must pay out approximately 90% of earnings so growth capital requires going into the debt markets frequently when floating additional shares are not an option. They will be hit with interest expense much higher than they have experienced in the past decade. I enjoy dividend Bulls videos and have gotten a number of good ideas from this channel.

💯 % correct!! The primary reason I don’t get involved with Self Storage investments or stocks is the massive surplus of storage units/locations at the moment.
It’s almost as if the industry has reached a Storage Bubble high point and it’s on the verge of deflating within a year.
In fact, IMO, I’m seeing bubbles for quite a few sectors. EV’s being one of them.

Re NSA, you did not mention their stock price history, which is a very important metric on how the company is doing. Their price doubled from mid '20 to late '21, and has fallen by as much since then to a low in October of last year, and has recovered somewhat since then. This is consistent with the S&P overall, so no surprise, but this has to be considered when gauging their dividend payment history.

    • @MartinD9999

I have a small position in them and bought more this week. The share price has gone down this week because I think got downgraded to a hold by an analyst covering so currently selling at below the analyst price target avg. I don't know a ton about them aside from a quick review on my own so would second that request for a video. My hesitation would be dividend inconsistency. It's looked good the last few years but don't know if it will go back down. I think after NEWT switched to.a holding company and slashed their dividend I have a built in hesitation on holding companies but that's the only reason.

Thanks, always appreciate you covering new funds! I like Enbridge and their recent acquisition at current share price. I'm diversifying a lot this year and looking at a lot of new funds with some I've already bought into. If any interest you that I don't think you have done a video on to review are CCETFs: FEPI and TUGN (bought these already). I'm also looking at a lot of CEFs which I normally don't do so may be diversifying for the sake of diversifying without benefiting my portfolio. There are a lot there that have passed my first few tests but scratching my head on a lot of them: ACV, AIO, AY, BIT, BTO, CSQ, EVT, FOF, GUT, HPF, HPS, HQH or HQL, HTD, MCI, MEGI, RMT, SPE. Just some suggestions if helpful on new ones I'm looking at I don't think you have covered. Specifically interested in the more supposedly tax efficient CEFs. Thanks!

Great video! Thanks! I already own sizeable positions in MPLX and ENB, but would add on a pullback. ENB pulled back nicely a few months back when they announced purchase of some US utilities and was a great time to add. EPD is another great MLP in the energy sector with a long history of growing dividends. I'll have to look at BNL again. I passed over it once before, but can't remember why. Maybe it was it's short dividend history.
