I took my Toyota to a diesel pump specialist to have the pump rebuilt, had leaking front shaft seal, he rebuilt it with new body, main shaft and the rest, 20000klms later same problem, took the pump back and he pulled out the shaft, looked to me like the 280000klm one that was there b4, as it had a groove on the shaft where the front seal was, he put in a new shaft, charged another $700, I paid $2500 all up for the obvious rip off, when I took the pump off found one of the 2 bolts missing in action which held the pump to the engine, they put an extra timing belt plate on crank it was not off my engine, and they call themselves experts, experts in ripping people off I reckon.
Hi, what size does the original 1.6td pump have? Is the plunger head for a mk3 golf with 1.9 injection pump same, i mean is it possible to be replaced, so 1.6 plunger head off and 1.9 plunger head in? Thanks, doing the 1.9mtdi on a mk2
Can you give me some advise please? What the differences between R and L Fuel injection pump? I have R injection pump can i replace L Distributor Head to be (L) fuel injection ? all other parts seems same in the two types L and R. or i have to replace other parts such as Feed Pump.
We are talking close to 3000 bar( 43510 psi ) pressure here. That is more pressure than water jet cutting machine. modern Diesel engines require very high atomisation of fuel to meet reduced emission norms.
Excellent vid 👍 My question is regarding a leaking pump. I don't want to rebuild just replace the rubber seals on the side covers and top cover. Pretty certain the distribution block seal is ok but if it isn't is it pretty easy to just replace these seals without too much fuss. Thanks
Rob R just did the side seals really easy nothing to worrry about except one side does have a spring and washers so be careful on that side. mine is a 1.6d vw
Excellent video! Is there any way to diagnose a faulty cilinder/plunger? I have problems with hot start, once it cools a little it starts normally. Thanks
Good day. You mean pumps type VP? Which start with the number 0470 .....? Video on them yet, but later there will be an article on the site. I will report this on the channel.
Can you give me some advise please? I was replacing rubber seal on a hydraulic cover and somehow I manage to broke the spacer of the plunger end. Can you please tell me what to do and does this pump is still for use?
I don't understand how timing is set on pump according to engine (chamshaft, crankshaft).... it has got 4 pipes where fuel under pressure go to injectors, by that I mean fuel has to be pushed in correct time and to correct cylinder.... Adjusting chamshaft and crankshaft to correct possition is easy to do, but how to know the position of bosch pump and correctly adjust it... I saw many videos about adjusting bosch pump by a dial gauge, and I don't believe that finding the zero point of the plunger and moving it forward for 0.8mm does the job correctly. I would appreciate any advice , regards.
@@brtd9418 static timing setting with a comparator is theoric, you have to mark the good position of the pump with a felt .It s an origine of beginning the setting. But dynamic timing ( engine running) is to do with your ears ( and probably road tests)
WOW !!
best descriptive vid ever. Clear and precise instructions. Im still not stripping it down, but thanks anyway. 👍
There is no point stripping down unless you have new pistons, new o rings, high accurate dial gauges and other speciality tools.
Great shots!!! 👍🏼Awesome descriptions!!!
чётко. доступно. понятно. большое спасибо
Please tell me,Which of these components is the fuel feed pump? Send me a picture
Thanks very much. Perfect video.
Thanks so much
Thanks very much Very iustrative video
Thank you.

Dudes, my ve pump lifts fuel twice, then drops it right back. Could I have one or two canes stuck in the lift part of the pump?
thank you on this job.
that piece of shit has more engineering than the whole rest of ther car itself

Sure you dont have a VP44 pump? PSGs are known for shitting themselves in VPs and a common symptom is trouble when hot starting
