I heard this piece when I was a teenager and the Polish pianist told me about its story. I fell in love with it and I never knew I could ever play this piece. I play it now and I love it more every time I play it.
Every piece of Chopin's tells a story, usually about some grief in his life, such as losing his country and losing his sister. His music is a form of human expression, coming from deep inside the soul, letting every listener sense his pain and find healing through each note that is played. I love to play Chopin. His technique is one of the best ways for an intermediate pianist to explore new theory and unique style.
Chopin composed this piece just after his sister passed away He was suffering her lost and this should be taken into account when playing it. You have shown this in your playing excellently played
i play this piece and often watch this video as inspiration before playing it. this performance transports me to a higher plane and i feel the result in my playing. thank you magdalena!
This is my favorite out of all pieces of Chopin, Magdalena, you have exhibited the sorrow and sadness of Chopin. Life is something not easy. Hopefully, I can attend to your concert one day even I am from Hong Kong. 😀
I really love this performance. The visual of everyone dressed in their formal evening wear adds to the romanticized melancholy too. It gives me nostalgia for a specific period of my life, years ago.
I really love this Nocturne. It was one of my first Chopin. And usually I play it every day once at least.. this interpretation is in my opinion one of the best. Brava!
What an amazing interpretation; absolutely flawless! On par with my favorite interpretation by Claudio Arrau. It's so hard to believe that Chopin wrote this nocturne when he was only 17 years old, and decided not to publish it because he wasn't pleased with it??? It has always been my very favorite nocturne.
Chopin, as many great composers, was underappreciated in his lifetime. He was so talented, his style was so emotional and full of deep meaning. He was wonderful.
One of the most beautiful pieces humanity created ever. I do not belive, that he wrote it when he was 17. You have to live some life to experience all kthe pain, that this piece is telling us about. So beautiful. It amplifies all the sorrow in your heart. Magnificent. What a great composer. And very accurate perfomance
Phenomenal performance, If Chopin hears you, I'm sure he's proud, not only because of your unique style but also you're a beautiful Polish pianist touch his feelings on the keys. Kind regards:) Thalassapilot.
Technically and expressively beautiful, just a touch too fast for my taste. I always played it a bit slower through the years. But otherwise so beautiful. Brava!

Where can I find the story of it?
