CloudWatch Events : Get custom notifications when instance stopped or Terminated

In this video i've tried to explain how to get a notifications on given emails when an ec2 instance stopped / terminated.

Thankyou for this video. I am having doubt related to this, I hv made 1 ec2 instance and I hv create a rule of stopped and terminated as well as I hv creat sns topic nd both rule n and are verified...means subscription is done. But whenever I stop the instance I can't receive any mail ... So how can I troubleshoot this issue?
