Just came from Walt Disney Concert Hall (downtown Los Angeles) - the Autobahn show - a completely brilliant show - they played a handful of tracks from other albums (which was awesome), including TEE. I live across the street from the venue and have been jonesing from the moment I left. Thank you so much for capturing (and posting) this!!!
Great recording, yes Ralf is the only one left (R.I.P. Florian) and all these songs were made late 70's to 80's (Hütter, Bartos, Flür, Schnieder etc.) but the music stands the test of time and continues to evolve.
Fantastic... My First Concert (6 all together) Was Uncle Sams/Nitro Bar (July 26 and 27th 1981 Pocket Calculator Tour went to both) on telegraph and Schoolcraft in Redford Mi... My last was the 2016 Movement. I was the last Car in the parking lot at Nitro when they were loading up their Van at around 230am. I was blasting my great stereo that I just put into my old Lincoln. Asked Ralf and another member if they wanted to have some Vodka, and of course a joint. They jumped into my back seat and enjoyed their own music on my state of the art System. Great Memories!

I was just a 3rd grader in elementary school when 'Autobahn' was a hit. For years I thought the lyrics made it a Beach Boys song. I realized much later on that they are singing in GERMAN. I've heard this classic used as bkgd music for radio ads later on. I learned later Kraftwerk work as time went on and at the R'n'R HOF Museum in Cleveland I FINALLY put 2-and-2 together. just to think, Billboard this song got as high as #24 but it CHANGED THE WORLD. This band, like Roxy Music, Bowie, Slade, Ramones, Prince, etc. invented and influenced my Gen X in so many ways. And where are the 'Hit Parade's/Toppermost of the Poppermost'' Scheisse acts of that period like Capt. and Tenille, KC and the Sunshine Band, 'Disco Duck' (SUCKS!), and all of those milquetoast soulless 'adult contemporary 'acts that clogged AM radio at the time? GONE! OK, some of them still 'exist' with ONE original or 'classic' member left, stealing tour money and playing their 40 - 50 year + crap (didya hear that, Greedy Eagles???!!!). This is like a full circle for me. This may very well be the BEST show I have ever been to, and I've been to a LOT of 'em, many big-name acts. I loved every single minute of this show. Just like that total solar eclipse I witnessed and saw last month; this is one exciting event that I will never forget. I will cherish this FOREVER! VIELENDANK for putting this online. Saw this show in Orlando, FL., truly a mesmerizing experience. The best part for me was the new intro to Music Non Stop; we all froze as this was completely new, never heard material.
This is one hell of a show. I saw them in London in 1991. An unforgettable night. It's a shame they don't do pocket calculator anymore. I always loved that bit of audience interaction.
Thanks for posting this. I attended Newport the night before and like most people was absolutely blown away. Was the bass up in Columbus just absolutely crazy? TEE shook my innards like I have never felt in my life, yet I walked away without my ears ringing. It was just the best concert I've ever seen hands down. Also this was neat cause I had nearly the exact same vantage point.
