In my humble opinion, this song is the most Beautiful as well as the Saddest one of all Imelda Papin's songs she has ever sung But also---the most under-rated. Just by hearing the *the first 2 lines* of the song the listener or the singer could feel the 'stinging sadness' of melody equally complemented by extremely sad lyrics. Plus the predominance of minor chords all thru the song is a surefire recipe for a tear jerker and heart rending song. Very seldom does a song in Major Key emotes sadness
Sir Wilbert, this is one of my staple songs in my harana days in Pinas back then circa 1977, 78 and 79. I had thought then and even now that the writer of this song derives his idea for this song from the song 'You're my Everything' by Santa Esmeralda which came about the same time as this song. I *comp* my own guitar chords for both songs I've noticed then that the Chord Progression of the two is:almost exactly the same, though the melodies are different. Haha I remembered when I was in grade school. Sa armature contest ko palagi napapanood. Pag tatanungin ng host kung ano ang kakantahin sasabihin naman ng contestant " sabihin mo" then asked again in second time. What she wants to sing then says " sabiuin mo " it's kind of joke then people laughed
