MAFEX has been killing it with their DC live action line once they started releasing the Justice League members. This Shazam has also the best faceprint they've ever made. It's a real shame they always struggle with QC issues (shoulders in this case). I wonder if we'll get an updated Superman because of the Snyder Cut? It'd be great!
honestly I think you can get away with this as a comic Shazam on your display if you wanted too. This is probably one of the most accurate costume designs in any comic book movie right next to Deadpool and Spiderman, etc

It is the joint the used. It is a crank shape into the torso with the nub on the inner side that blocks 100% the outward motion. Unfortunate as when I opened mine he looked excellent just like the movie!
Oh wow, the sculpt work and overall look of this figure is excellent. Spot-on to the movie. But that long-peg-through-a-floating-piece shoulder joint setup is atrocious. Really, really bad. Also, I don't think the hip setup is deliberate. I think it's just bad engineering. The gappiness in the crotch looks awful. A very mixed bag. Those accessories are really nice though! Thank you for the video D, you cover everything really well and keep us informed!
Nice review. The DC multiverse version of Shazam was a really good figure. And on a side note Jerry O’Connell voiced Shazam in justice league unlimited

I really think that most collectors of Mafex figures live in denial at this moment, their figures continue to suffer from qc issues, bad engineering choices and very poor durability, all of this at a unreasonable price. I was always gonna pass on this release cuz I don’t care for the character or movie, but besides the looks, sculpt and details of their figures they haven’t improved on the overall quality of their collectibles, of course this is just my opinion. If we keep buying they just won’t get better at addressing the quality of their figures. They have nailed on releases like JL Batman’s,Black Panther, Comic Deadpool and Spidey but ever since I can’t remember of another figure free of issues.
Has anyone ordered from bbts lately? I bought some stuff on the 19th and its still processing. Ive bought from them before but it hasn’t taking this long. Ik its prob cus of corona but im just curious if anyone else has had this issue
I would keep waiting,. I've ordered something recently that was delayed slightly but it still came. They may be experiencing some Covid-19 delays but they'll get it out to you. I haven't had many issues with companies/ppl shipping within the US.
This review made me feel alot more comfortable spending 100 bucks. Lol that hood might bean issue but tbh I don't remember him wearing it in the movie so I may not even use it lmao

You're kinda right. The movie is based of the New 52 version, who's called Shazam. But there are some comics that call him Captain Marvel. Tales of the Dark Multiverse came out last year, and he's called Captain Marvel in that story.
